When "Hockey Mom" Goes Wrong, Real Wrong; The Last Straw with Lying Polls

In a story that the corporate owned media won't have the heart and guts to go fully into (well, the TV media won't since Newsweek broke this story last night, via Steven R at the Kos)because of their desire to keep this race as close as possible for their ratings (and at the behest of keeping you ignorant), here is the latest bombshell in the life and times of Sarah Palin.
Court documents show that Judge Suddock was disturbed by the alleged attacks by Palin and her family members on Wooten's behavior and character. "Disparaging will not be tolerated—it is a form of child abuse," the judge told a settlement hearing in October 2005, according to typed notes of the proceedings. The judge added: "Relatives cannot disparage either. If occurs the parent needs to set boundaries for their relatives."

"It is the mother's responsibility to set boundaries for her relatives and insure they respect them, and the disparagement by either parent, or their surrogates is emotional child abuse,"He added that: "If the court finds it is necessary due to disparagement in the Mat-Su Valley for the children's best interests, it will not hesitate to order custody to the father and a move into Anchorage."

As Steven R said it perfectly in his diary:
The judge called Sarah Palin and her family's behavior a form of child abuse and almost awarded custody to Wooten.

If you thought that story would be ignored or poorly covered by CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, and, outside of Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, then this one will really not surprise you at all. The Gallup tracking, CBS, and USA Today polls that the network have been clamoring about in regards to McCain leading for the first time in this election, with the excuse for this sudden "leap over Obama" stemming from the proverbial "convention bounce", has sadly been a slight fabrication. And any little fabrication in a poll is a massive one. In fact, it's not just a fabrication. It's a sloppy and reckless distortion to say the least.

Seth Walls of the Huffington Post broke this story, and it is embarrassing:
But, interestingly, all three polls were also conducted using a higher sampling of Republican voters than in July, raising a question of methodology.

In a year in which Democrats have a lead of 11 million registered voters over Republicans, and have been adding to that advantage through a robust field operation, are pollsters over-sampling Republicans?

Despite a raft of advantages in the electorate for Democrats, in September's first Gallup tracking poll, an equal number of Republicans and Democrats were surveyed (including "leaners") from Sept. 3-5, compared to a 10-point Democratic identification advantage two weeks ago. That partisan makeup of the polling pool resulted in a 5-point lead for McCain in Sept. 5 tracking poll. Meanwhile, the new CBS poll features a 6-point swing in partisan composition toward Republicans, which plays some role in the poll's two-point lead for McCain. Finally, the latest USA Today poll, which claims a four-point edge for McCain, was arrived at after a 10-point swing in partisan makeup toward GOP respondents.

And this bump, where has this glorious bump come from besides the "tweaking" of these polls for the worst campaign known to American history? From Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Alaska?????????
Nope, the good old South (via an excellent diary/thread from DaveV at the Kos)

and

Oops, I think they may have left that detail about that important detail of the "South coming home" outside of talking about how "Obama can't focus on Georgia and North Carolina anymore since the religious right have come back to the base." (And when I mean coming home, for those who don't know, that is political talk for voting for the party you normally vote for because they best represent your values and beliefs.)

Some narcissistic talking points and pundits continue to fail realizing that the 50- state strategy of focusing on parts of the country that have gone to Republicans since 1964 isn't solely for Obama/Biden though, but don't tell that to those "dummies" in emails that they may delete the minute you expose their calumny (and when I mean "dummies", I mean the SOP, not your friends who may not be as up to date on the news stuff as you may).

And, in addition, let the media continue leaving out a few key details and facts so that their narrative can lead to more big ratings for them at your expense (and as mentioned early, your ignorance). Because when you have to tell this to those out there who still believe in the atrocious fallacy that is "the liberal media" being "liberal", well, just link them to this post, let alone this and other "truth telling, rational" websites.

Maybe then, they will never call Wolf Blitzer on CNN or even Chris Matthews on MSNBC "liberal".
