Music Thread #1 for 10/21/08: Eminem's Comeback Is Near

Apparently, the silence from him is over:
Eminem has seen the top of the mountain, and at this point, he's happy to let someone else take his perch. Despite a mega-platinum run earlier in the decade that saw him rising to the pinnacle of rap superstardom, the MC told BBC Radio host Zane Lowe over the weekend that he's had it with fame.
"I've accomplished enough with the music that I haven't had to go out there and do other things to over-saturate.

"But, at the end of the day, it's kind of catch 22. I love the attention but I don't like too much of it."

Now some people may have taken my criticism over Vibe's stupid NCAA- Tournament style best rapper alive gimmick as a slap on Eminem. Which, if you did, then you are totally wrong.

Em has always been smart to know when to leave and know when to come back. And whether you live him (and hate his absence), or don't love him (and haven't missed him at all), you can never question the man's common sense.
