The Final Analysis:
Once again, managing is just so important in this sport and especially in a World Cup Final.

Quite simply, it was another moment of good manager and atrocious manger. Oscar Tabarez got it perfect by bringing in Cavini so Forlan could be the playmaker with Suarez and the Palermo, and Parreira got it all totally wrong by leaving Mphela isolated and all alone for a long night.

Uruguay place a lot of pressure on France and Mexico shoulders in the Group A's 4th match tomorrow, with the loser of that game in serious trouble.

Thanks to Parreira awful managing, Thune's tough red card on Suarez, and Dikgacoi not available for the next match because of two yellows in two marches, South Africa have it all to do to somehow stay in this tournament. People have already written their obituary the minute the red card happened, seeing this as the moment where the host nation goes out in the group stages for the first time.

Thankfully for South African fans, their next match is with Raymond Domenach's team. Oh thank goodness for that indeed.

No question who was the Man, or the Giant, of this match:

The lineups :
South Africa: Khune, Gaxa, Masilela, Mokoena, Tshabalala, Mphela, Pienaar, Modise, Letsholonyane, Dikgacoi, Khumalo

Uruguay: Muslera, Lugano, Godin, Fucile, Cavani, Suarez, Forlan, A Pereira, Perez, M Pereira, Arevalo Rios

The prediction: South Africa 2, Uruguay 1, as the emotion of the host nation on this night will be too much for sure for Uruguay here.

The 1st half analysis:

It's been all about that man, Diego Forlan, in this 1st half.

Freed to be a true playmaker instead of a withdrawn forward playmaker like he was against France, having Edison Cavani up front makes a big difference for Forlan and all of Uruguay. But his goal, because of the deflection off of Mokoena, is not the "goal of the tournament" thus far. Deflections just don't merit that award from me, simple as that.

For South Africa, Parker and probably even Thwala need to come in ASAP. In fact, they need to come in at halftime for the Bafana Bafana, and Parreira hopefully will see just that.
