Sound defensive performance, despite Robinho's usual stupidity.

Chile missed Ponce and Medel in this match, and that showed there. That absence was obviously the case there, and it was one way traffic all the way today.

The full review.

Now who named that clown Man of the Match? Anyway, the preview for Brazil and the Netherlands will come soon, like Thursday or Friday soon.

Here are the match archives.

The lineups:
Brazil: Julio Cesar - Maicon, Lucio, Juan, Michel Bastos, Gilberto Silva, Luis Fabiano, Kaka, Robinho, Dani Alves, Ramires

Chile: Fuentes, Isla, Contreras, Carmona, Sanchez, Vidal, Suazo, Mark Gonzalez, Beausejour, Jara
Much closer than their qualifying matches, but I say a fun Brazil 3-1 win.

The disclipine of Brasil, under Dunga, is impressive to watch here.

They were not concerned at all by Chile's usual aggression, as well as the return of the always dangerous Humberto Suazo, the Chilean's onky true deadly finisher. Lucio was covering him, and the chemistry he has with Juan is so important.

Speaking of the AS Roma man, his header goal broke things open, and now, if they don't lose their intensity (which they should be wary of doing against a Chile team who came back on them 2-0 at home in qualifying before Brazil won it 4-2), then they should stream roll in the second half.

The floodgates could open folks, even if Chile will fight back here. Without half of their starting backline of Ponce and Medel, to go along with Estrada in the midfield, and it's all hell broken loose for Marcelo Bielsa's team. He is angry with their replacements, Contreas and Fuentes, were doing okay until those two costly moments.
