The 1st Thread/The General Election is Over Thread For 9/20/12: The Pain Caused by False Equivalence

False equivalency really is an ugly thing. It's so ugly, it makes pitbulls look like York Terriers and Jamba the Hut look like Princes Leia.

False equivalence is especially ugly in American politics as the liberal/progressive/rational community knows, with one side clearly creating ridiculous false equivalence comparisons into supposedly grown up discussions.

It doesn't matter, whether you're Reince Priebus or some arrogant nut community person on Huff Post Live, any conservative is so keen to bring up an asinine event and automatically think it's analogous to their flawed candidate's awful moments. (For example of this, see this conservative guy here in this segment if you get a chance after this post).

The latest of that example is the desperation to equally compare Mitt's 47 percent cluster (you know what) to anything Obama has said. What's more ridiculous about it of course is the centrist American news media always legitimizing their argument in order to have balance and keep ratings in tact for the election.

Conservatives and their false equivalences are more desperate than Twilight movie PR staff and Kristin Stewart hoping she gets back together with Robert Pattinson. It really is embarrassing, and it intentionally insults the intelligence of the American public once again.

Now for those casual viewers of politics who aren't apart of the loyal, rational, and somehow mentally stable people in liberal/progressives circles who can somehow endure 18 hour discussions on politics for a major part of every year, let's just break down this latest pathetic desperation to paint Obama as equally incompetent as Smirking Mitt's consistent humiliation.

Somehow, they thought getting a video of Obama from 1998, talking about redistribution, was going to embarrass him. They should have went back four years ago with Joe the Plumber and save themselves from all the other times Obama has said "redistribution" over the years.

Obama has probably said "redistribution" more times than Brett Favre has thrown touchdowns or Madonna has said the words "Blowjobs" and "F--k" in the 90's.

So that captures the inanity and insanity of conservative once again, and their desire to see an equal argument for any Republican screwup is really about as tacky as Woody Allen is creepy.

Even worse of course is our centrist media continuing to legitimize it, willingly or unwillingly, without ridiculing it as well. And there seems no immediate sign that the likes of Chris Jensing, or the usually terrific on anything but politics Carol Costello, or any other centrist media anchor on broadcast or cable will stop giving a reputable platform for the false equivalence.

The likes of Karl Rove, Ed Gillespie, David Brooks, the likes of Olympia Snowe, Kelly Ayotte, Judd Gregg, and all other smart lying or half-truth Republicans will keep on smiling in glee with how they got another fast one by the American people.

The false equivalence will continue to persist and take attention away from legitimately awful moments and mistakes from a flawed conservative ideology domestically and globally unless a cure is given for that here in America.

But I guess the end of the false equivalence is less likely than a moment where Donald Trump is humble and quiet.
