It is thought to be backup linebacker Jovan Beltcher who was the protagonist of this tragic and unpredictable event, but no name has officially been given to police.

And what makes this chilling event more chilling is that the player's suicide was witnessed by some of the Chiefs coaching staff and organization who tried to convince him not to take his life.

I have never seen anything like this before in sports during a professional season with any athlete in all the sports I have covered domestically and globally.

First Update: It' official, as part time starting linebacker Jovan Beltcher is the one at the center of this tragedy, killing his girlfriend and then killing himself.

As always sadly, there are also immature clowns in this world, as one person with enough editing power on Wikipedia decided to make this the first entry on Beltcher.

It's Friday, that means it's "The Cinema" time: Without a doubt, the best movie this week is the enjoyable Emma Thompson improving on the first version of Nanny McPhee with "Nanny McPhee Returns!" It is another delight for the kids and adults from a class actress in a fun role. Roger Moore of the Orlando Sentinel hopes there is another return for this nanny : But this is a most welcome return, a sequel that rises from the “world of poo” of its setting and tickles and warms the heart. Let’s hope Nanny McPhee is “deployed” again, and soon. Another movie out this week is Piranha 3-D, which has been made as a scary fun spoof to Jaws.
