The Halloween 2014 1st Thread For 10/31/13: Whodini- Freaks Come Out At Night (1984)

One of the few songs truly fitting for the day, it's the Halloween classic from almost 30 years ago, it's the iconic hip-hop group Whodini with "Freaks Come Out at Night." Some will have to #LearnToday Happy Halloween will continue at TWD, stay tuned.

The Sports Thread #1 For 10/30/13 (First Version): Goodbye A.I.

He should have become what Tony Parker became, in order to get himself closer to the championship he deserves as he got older. Nevertheless, a future Hall of Famer and real dude from the state of Virginia has retired today. Here is the press conference below. You know it's going to be a painful season for your franchise when a former player's retirement is the best thing about your season. (More to come at The Whole Delivery, stay tuned.)

Midday Music Energy Boost For 10/30/13: B.O.B- Don't Let Me Fall (2010)

Image
Bobby Ray has to find a way to return to this music to make himself a standout artist instead of becoming another talented rapper who tried to do the "club route" and lose his fans and momentum.  Clearly his best song to date. It's "Don't Let Me Fall," the lead track to his solo debut. One of the best opening songs on an album.

The Fun Thread #1 For 10/30/13 (First Version): Mr. Personality Strikes Again

This was yesterday. Even as a Jets fan and such a cheater that their organization is: More to come at The Whole Delivery. Stay tuned.

The 1st Thread/Music Wakeup Call For 10/30/13: Rihanna- Pour It Up (2012/2013)

Might as well just to get the day going..... More to today from The Whole Delivery....

The 1st Thread/Music Wakeup Call For 10/29/13: Rihanna feat David Guetta- Right Now (2012)

In celebration of the start of the 2013-14 NBA season, here is TNT on NBA's montage of the Eastern Conference playoffs from last June with Rihanna.

The Sports Thread/The Live Thread #1 For 10/22/13 (Second Version): 2013 WTA Championships, Day 1

Image
Second Version: Azarenka defeats Errani 7-6 (4), 6-2 The review is forthcoming at the word "here", but Azarenka needed that match, great first set even with all the breaks because they are great all court returners, and it will be interesting to see if Errani still plays her next two singles round robin matches, with the doubles' semis on Saturday looming.  Next, it's Serena and Angie. Both are happy and relaxed to be here, but with Serena being relaxed, this will be a routine, calm win today.  Preview here at TPN . First match: Vika Azarenka vs Sara Errani The live coverage is here, and everywhere else. After the first seven games of the match, it seemed Sara Errani was ready to show again to any of her critics why their negative comments about her are still unbelievably foolish. With her all court skill and savvy at just 5'4, Errani's level of shotmaking and versatility became the main story of the first set instead of Victoria A

The 1st Thread/AM Music Wakeup Call For 10/22/13: Mindless Behavior- My Girl (2010)

Image
This song is still just too golden. And I guarantee after last night's TLC biopic, the people at Viacom will make a Mindless Behavior biopic for some 8th place channel of theres created in the future, since no one would care about that movie other than to laugh and joke about it. More to come on TWD today, please stay tuned.

The 1st Thread/Music Midday Energy Boost For 10/21/13: Afrojack & Shermanology - Can't Stop Me (2012)

Image
I usually hate House/EDM music, so this is one of the few songs I can tolerate. It's today's Midday Energy Boost. Also, for the longest, I thought Shermanology was white. Quite the pleasant surprise that she was actually black.

The Flashback Fridays #1 For 10/18/13: Blaque feat NSync - Bring It All To Me (1999)

The funny thing about this song is that it technically featured N'Sync, and specifically, JC Chasez, since he was the only one who even had anything to deal with the song from LeftEye's group. Although he was nowhere to be found in the video or song besides maybe the songwriting. Okay, he was in this version , but not in the video's version.  Actually, it was a good move that he wasn't in the song, since it was kind of awkward for him to say "His thug appeal." Blaque's version by themselves is a lot better, and Vevo really does need to take that off (the 'featuring NSync's label) so more people won't be confused. The page views are not worth the embarrassment. Then again, Vevo is incompetent in the first place as we all know. Your first Flashback Friday choice at The Whole Delivery this week, and hopefully, for many more.

The Live Thread/The Sports Thread For 10/17/2013: 2013 ALCS, Game 5

Image
This should be the theme to every major national MLB game, especially in the playoffs. I give you baseball's best anthem ever, from of course NBC Sports (with help from ABC Sports), it's the two year Baseball Network anthem of 1994 and 1995. I feel Sanchez will do what he did in Game 1, and Lester will slightly pitch worse than he did, and have the Tigers be one win away from a second American League pennant in three years.

The Music Midday Energy Boost For 10/17/13: Lupe Fiasco feat Ed Sheeran- Old School Love (2013

Image
Photo from Billboard.com Really smooth and soulful effort that is simple enough, where no one can stupidly accuse Lupe of going over your head on the first listen and automatically turn him off. It really has that deep feel of Kanye's underrated classic "Family Business." Really hope it gets a video and full single proper promotion.

The 1st Thread/Music Wakeup Call For 10/15/13: Miri Ben Ari feat Scarface & Anthony Hamilton- Sunshine To The Rain (2005)

Image
The return of this perfect morning classic, from the always amazing Miri Ben Ari, and the also amazing Scarface and Anthony Hamilton. We have featured this song so many times on here, and we will feature it again:

The (Un) Fun Thread For 10/14/13 (First Edition): The Bartman Decade Anniversary

A day that will live in infamy forever in Chicago Cubs fans' hearts has its 10 year anniversary tonight. Oh dear indeed Clubs, on the night of NLCS Game 3 for this year's postseason. I pray your misery ends soon as it can. And even more crushing about this is the fact that Bernie Mac sung the 7th inning stretch. Chilling.

The Flashback Fridays Music Thread #1 For 10/11/13: Xscape- Just Kickin' It (1993)

Image
20 years ago, So So Def Records took off in Atlanta, Georgia, and this is one of those timeless songs in all of R&B and American music despite it being so underrated. A true Georgia classic, the return of Flashback Fridays at The Whole Delivery, it's Xscape with their greatest hit "Just Kickin' It." Amazingly, this song only reached #2 on the Billboard's Top 100 charts despite it's global and long term appeal. The laid-back, Georgia ride still kicks to this day. And it's great to once again have it as a Flashback Friday selection. More to come on the return of The Whole Delivery, in a bit.
