Sports Sunday #2 For 9/26/10: NFL Week 3 Late Games Review

Image
Photo from NFLcom.com and AP The Seahwaks, behind two kickoff return touchdowns from Leon Washington, held off the Chargers 27-20 to go 2-1 on the season. No Anthony Gonzalez or Pierre Garson, no problem for Peyton Manning, as his big day with Austin Collie gave the Colts a satisfying 27-13 win over a Broncos side playing 5 days after Kenny McKinnley's shocking death. Michael Vick continued his stellar comeback to prominence , throwing 3 TD's and running for one in the Eagles romp of the hapless Jaguars 28-3. Sebastian Janikowski chip shot miss from 32 yards out gave the Cardinals the 24-23 win over a heartbroken Raiders' team . Sam Bradford continues his impressive start to the season as the Rams scored their first win over a very disappointing Reds team 30-16. And in SNF, the development of Mark Sanchez continues, as the Jets get a 2nd straight division win by beating the Dolphins 31-23. Photo from NFL.com and AP

Sports Sunday #1 For 9/26/10: NFL Week 3 Early Game Reviews

Photo form NFL.com and the AP The Falcons showed why most thought they would win the NFC South, as they defeated the defending champs Saints 27-24 in overtime . The Cowboys got a much needed victory over their state rivals the Texans , as Roy Williams big day was a catalyst in their 27-13 win. Speaking of needed victories, the Vikings got their first "W" of the season , as Adrian Peterson ran wild in their 24-10 scalp of the Lions. The Steelers are without a doubt the most dominate 3-0 team in the league right now, as Charlie Batch was just as brilliant as their dominating defense in their 38-13 romp of the Bucs. A much improved performance from Matt Cassel and a 49ers team still not over their Saints defeat lead to the Chiefs getting a surprising 3-0 start . Tom Brady and Randy Moss had another big day, as the Pats defeated a game Bills team 38-30 . It wasn't at all pretty, but the Bengals have their record go up to 2-1 over a talent depleted Panthers team...

The injury list for the 2010-2011 season opener: For the Vikings, the key lost will be no Cedric Griffin at corner, along with Sidney Rice already sidelined, as Lito Shepperd or Asher Allen will get the nod, while the Saints are without defense MVP Darren Sharper. Minnesota Vikings: RB Toby Gerhart: AD will be in there on third downs. QB Joe Webb: Third QB Also inactive: DB Chris Cook, G Chris DeGeare, DE Everson Griffen, CB Cedric Griffin, DT Jimmy Kennedy, TE Mickey Shuler New Orleans Saints: Also inactive: LB Stanley Arnoux, WR Adrian Arrington, LB Danny Clark, DE Junior Galette, TE Jimmy Graham, RB Chris Ivory, FS Chris Reis, T Zach Strief Keys to this opener are just as similar as last Season's NFC Championship game. For the Saints, continuing the formula of fine protection for Drew Brees and mixing in both Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush is the objective.
