CNN's honorable trainwreck of an analyst Erick Erickson rips his party's new pledge , although it basically has the ideas he supports . And in your lighter delivery today, it appears Sesame Street has done a parody of......."True Blood."

The Catch Up Thread For 9/2/10 (Final Edition): Brewing Up An Epic Disaster

Can small business even make it to 2014 before health insurance reform comes in? Unless the states they are in are able to opt out of it like Ron Wyden would want , maybe not with those absurd rates. Arizona's nutcase governor must have gotten tongue tied with wanting to say "border control" to have this unbelievable disaster : Mike Pence is on of their top mascots. They have many top mascots though . Calculated Risk thinks the unemployment rate will increase to 9.6% . And he also highlights how the lack of quality reporting on non-Census public sector jobs is a major problem. Among Democracy Now's headlines, BP has paid $93 million in television ads . Hopefully they just won't cave : Democrats led by Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chair Raul Grijalva are drawing a line in the sand before the White House's fiscal commission: If your report recommends cuts or other changes to Social Security, they will say, you'll lose our support. The 2nd Thread For 8/3/10: Early Morning Deliveries

Richard Trumka is urging unions to not sit at home this November : AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka implored state and local labor leaders and political organizers this morning to fight harder than ever in the fall elections, pleading with them to think about progress that's been made under President Obama and to "keep going." Trumka, who has not shied away from criticizing Obama, got specific with his pitch. He said the nation can't afford to have Senators like Republican candidates Sharron Angle (NV) and Rand Paul (KY), or to have a Speaker John Boehner if Democrats lose control of Congress. He also criticized the Democrats who haven't been supportive of the labor movement. Geithner began his tour of Fin Reg support, though with no mention of Elizabeth Warren it appears . Yesterday Leftovers For 4/13/10: Literally The Most Uncomfortable Interview For Colbert Ever (Updated)

The Colbert Report Mon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c Julian Assange www.colbertnation.com Colbert Report Full Episodes Political Humor Fox News Last night produced a truly eye-popping moment in news television last night. Unsurprisingly, it came from "The Colbert Report", because no one outside of Olbermann, Maddow, and Stewart would do the interview that transpired last night in the corporate media. Surprisingly though, that eye popping moment had to deal with the usually euphoric host having an uncommon moment of not acting his humorous parodic way. Instead, his interview with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange brought out a serious side of him, trying to understand his interviewee in this standout secession. For the beginning of the interview, the usual snark and classic sarcasm was evident, especially when Colbert had his producers blurr his face instead of Assange. The fun times then suddenly came to a halt. I have to say that I agree with Greg Mitchell on t...

Speaking of Colbert, this story I may talk about later too. But it is indeed hilarious . Triple check has a new definition today . Maxing sure the War on Christmas can be contained does your party in the minority. This week, 19 House Republicans unveiled a resolution (H. RES. 951) to make it clear that Congress likes Christmas. Whereas Christmas is a national holiday celebrated on December 25; and Whereas the Framers intended that the First Amendment of the Constitution, in prohibiting the establishment of religion, would not prohibit any mention of religion or reference to God in civic dialog: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the House of Representatives-- (1) recognizes the importance of the symbols and traditions of Christmas; (2) stron...
