The Sandy Aftermath Thread #1 For 11/4/12: The Forgotten Borough

Image
King Mike and one of his many wealthy buddies in Road Runners queen Mary Wittenberg were full stream ahead with having their marathon go as planned today all throughout Friday, until regular New Yorkers, especially in the marathon's starting point in Staten Island, gave their thoughts on how idiotic and immoral their out of touch plutocratic thoughts were. One Staten Island native putting it clear as day how angry they were (and still are) at Bloomberg was Maryanne Alessio on Fox News' Neil Cavuto, a network that certainly felt the need to rip Bloomberg constantly after he tepidly endorsed Obama the day before. It was one of the rare times when Fox News and Cavuto actually produced something meaningful and worth a damn (Apologies for the audio being low and not having the equipment to get it properly off TV yet, but if you are in a quiet location and turn the volume up to its highest, you will hear it all). "I think the marathon is a disgrace and shame on Blo...

Hero One Week, Scaredy Cat Zero The Next

Image
Weiner's letter to Bloomberg after his fine actions on Tuesday with no purpose of tackling the real issue . Sargent puts it right into perspective : Weiner "honors" Bloomberg for taking a "powerful" stance, without endorsing the sentiment that made Bloomberg's position so powerful. * Indeed, Weiner seemed to play both sides, suggesting it's legit to probe the financing of the mosque, the stance of the project's critics. And especially when bigot nutcase Senators show their full cards on this issue , a strong response from a man that is being held as this supposed strong liberal Democratic hero is certainly needed instead of cowardice. This normally cool Brooklyn guy is surely representing his last name well right now. I guess it's the pressure AIPAC can put on him at anytime I guess.

The Other Deliveries Report For 8/3/10 (1st Edition): Bloomberg's Classy Defense Of The Cordoba House

Probably the only time I will ever say "I am proud to have Michael Bloomberg as mayor of New York City." (More to come folks in this thread.)

Yesterday Leftovers For 4/22/10 (Version #2 Final): Facebook To Return Wikileaks Fan Pages

Image
After talking about this yesterday , Wikileaks broke the news on their Twitter page that Facebook will return their "fan page" with 30,000 fans back on the social protocol. As stated yesterday, Wikileaks "official page on Facebook" has never been tampered with. Meanwhile, King Mike is at it again , with his love of : Politico reported today that Mayor Mike trashed his longtime buddy Chuck Schumer at an April 12 meeting in Mitch McConnell's Senate office in Washington. The attack on Schumer, who supports the financial reform bill now before the Senate, is part of the oddest Bloomberg campaign yet -- his self-proclaimed crusade to protect Wall Street from even lackluster Obama regulation so they'll keep picking up the tab for our cops and firefighters. If you turned on Morning Joe Monday and Tuesday around 8, you were treated the first day to a somber but impenetrable lecture from Bloomberg about Washington's overreaching efforts to cook the city...

Thanks For Homelessness Mayor Bloomberg

Image
Photo from 1010 WINS I know these people want to really give you full thanks, hugs, and everything else : New York Homelessness Soars 34% And here in New York, city officials have disclosed the number of homeless increased a staggering 34 percent last year. More than 3,100 people lived on the streets in 2009, in addition to the near-record 38,000 listed as living in shelters. No wonder he stayed FAR, FAR away from talking about this, and it's something his opponent, Bill Thompson, should have talked much more about . Bloomberg has long struggled to address New York City's homeless problem. He set a goal in his first term of reducing the homeless population by two-thirds by 2009. But the number of people in shelters surpassed 39,000 for the first time last fall, some 3,000 more than when he took office. Until this year, the annual citywide street homeless count has declined each year since the survey began in 2005, when 4,395 were counted. Homeless advocates regularl...

Midday Music Energy Boost For 11/17/09: Your Baby Daughter Is In Danger Bloomberg!

Midday Energy Boost video.... Busta Rhymes - Fire It Up (Rap) (By RiZzO) by -RiZzO- The idiot that used a baby as a prop at the House health care floor debate two Saturdays ago is now making himself look more mentally challenged today What is further more ridiculous than Shadegg's feeble brain comments is the fact that Bloomberg's TWO daughters were born in 1979 and 1983. That means that they are probably 30 and 26 respectively (or over 29 and 25 at least). So Shadegg's stupid self doesn't know a single thing about Bloomberg other than him being the major of the future location of the trials, let alone his daughters (or in Shadegg's case, little daughter ). But Bloomberg sure knows that Shadegg is a certified idiot. The interesting situation involving Greg Craig's firing and why Rahm Emmanuel is at it again. And outside of Ballon Boy and dad, the Punk'd of the year . Fitting that they were made for each other . Your Energy Boost for the mid day.

Music Thread #1 For 10/22/09: Lil Wayne Will Go To Jail

Image
Photo form AP Plaxico Burress and now Lil Wayne are an example of how not to be reckless i n NYC with a gun The Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession, and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence. He previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in prison upon conviction. Police said a gun was found on his tour bus in Manhattan in 2007. So, will BET give him a countdown to lockdown series like they did Lil Kim.....probably so. But on an even more serious note, in the era of Emperor Bloomberg in New York City, this is the latest example, even if you're an out of town celebrity, that one mistake could easily lead to jail time if you have a firearm unexpected.

The One Sentence Thread For 10/13/09: Relief

Relieve to know that Emperor Bloomberg will not seek to be NYC mayor in the year 3000.

The Caption For 9/28/09: Yeah, He's "Independent" Alright

Image
New series highlighting photos that just seem strange, eye-popping or noteworthy funny here at TWD. We start with this one. The "independent" Mike Bloomberg, mayor of New York, in a press conference yesterday asking for DC to give NYC more money to fight any terrorism, with Joe Lie berman and House nutcase Peter King in the picture . More on that story later on. And more on it, because it just smells, SMELLS, not good. Especially when "emperor" Bloomberg, in his re-election bid, has a picture of those two clowns with Commissioner Kelley.

Ugggggggh. Bloomburg Names Wolfson To Head His Second Reelection Campaign

Image
(Bloomberg's photo from bloomberg09.com; Wolfson's photo from google.com How lovely : Having caught his breath after one of the most prolonged primary campaigns in history, Howard Wolfson, Hillary Clinton's longtime communications director, will now go direct some communication for Mayor Bloomberg's re-election campaign. Wolfson announced the new gig in an exclusive interview with NY1, calling Bloomberg "somebody who governs by addition, not by subtraction." In an e-mail to friends obtained by Poltico, Wolfson wrote: "As a New Yorker, I am very excited at the prospect of helping the Mayor at this very critical time in our city's history." And when questioned about his past dismissal of Hizzoner as "an out-of-touch billionaire," Wolfson explained that he those were not his words, but rather his "evil twin." This arrogant nut Wolfson was seemingly unbearable during the course of the primary season. And to make his credentials ev...
