Ah Oooh, Mr. All Things News Corp. could be in some serious do-do : The News of the World paid a private detective to provide hundreds of pieces of confidential information, often using illegal means, a confidential document obtained by The Independent on Sunday has revealed. The "Blue Book", a ledger of work carried out by Steve Whittamore for News International titles, including the NoW and The Sunday Times, details a series of transactions including obtaining ex-directory phone numbers, telephone accounts, criminal records checks and withheld mobile numbers. It reveals the itemised details of checks on public figures, including Peter Mandelson, ordered and paid for – at up to £750 a time – by reporters working for the redtop. Staff from a number of other national newspapers made similar requests, and their details are contained in further dossiers held by the Information Commissioner, the privacy watchdog. No transitional period like the Presidency here in the United States, right to work goes Cameron.

The Break For 5/10/10: The Resignation That Surprises No One

It has finally happened, as Gordon Brown has done what he should have done the night after last Thursday's General Election, resigning as Prime Minister of Britain. That surely means now that David Cameron is the man in the land to lead the Hung Parliament.

The Break For 5/7/10: Hung Parliament, You May Start The Hanging

It's a conservatives world in Britain, and no sign yet of Gordon brown resigning to David Cameroon. More to come folks on the final results and the obvious analysis. A brutal two days for Nick Clegg and the liberal Democrats sadly.

The 1st Thread/The Ballot For 5/7/10: The British Elections Thread #3

Hung Parliament and a lot of angry upset people in Britain right now. A lot. No one with outright power with Gordon Brown possibly slated to stunningly retain the Prime Minister position despite the Labour party having a torrid time (but expected to resign since everyone basically can't stand him over there), as the UK seems primed to have their first Hung Parliament in 36 years. And there has been many complaints on voters being turned back: Watch live video from VIP TV on Justin.tv

The Ballot, Special Edition #2 For 5/6/10: The British Elections 2010 Thread #2

This will go into the late day, as the results are still way up in the air there. Cameroon is still favored to win the PM with the whole balance of Parliament still very much in the balance. Watch live video from VIP TV on Justin.tv

The Break #2 For 4/28/10: The Gaffe Of The Year Not From Michael Steele

Seriously, this is massive overthere in the technical motherland of the U.S. Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been caught on microphone describing a voter he had just spoken to in Rochdale as a "bigoted woman". Sixty five-year-old Gillian Duffy had challenged Mr Brown on a number of issues including immigration and crime. As he got into his car, he was still wearing a broadcast microphone and was heard to say "that was a disaster". Mr Brown later apologised after the tape was played to him as he was interviewed on BBC Radio 2. After listening to the recording, with his head in his hands, he said: "I do apologise if I've said anything that has been hurtful." Now I don't know how strong the word "bigot" is over there and to whether it is seen as a sexist term in comparison to just being called a racist here in the 50 State Union. But I do know this: Brown is fully into damage control right now. Score one big time for David Came...
