Photo from The New York Times, the place that should apologize the most to Richard Blumenthal After assessing over the situation from a variety of perspectives , it is without a shadow of a doubt time for Richard Blumenthal to be delivered a heap of penitence from a wide variety of people, including myself. Most importantly however (because the campaign of the World Wrestling Entertainment group won't even dare bother to do so), the apologies to this man and the fierce blacklash that he has faced from this highly sensitive issue should come first from Raymond Hernandez , spokesperson Diane McNulty , and the rest of the New York Times . Just from a young fledgling journalist's perspective, seeing the New York Times have another embarrassing moment highlights how much of an utter hell hole journalism has become in America (and continues to diminish by the second), and how mind-numbingly depressing it can get witnessing it. Brought to you by the New York Times . Mr. Black : Either the NYT just ran with oppo research they were fed without bothering to check, or they did their own snipitty snip snipping . Given recent history, I imagine they'll address the issue in 10 years or so. We'll be lucky for it to be even a decade if they do so. A lot of people, from myself and especially the likes of Tweety bird, the usually terrific Bill Press, Ron "Cheney Uncle Tom Laptog" Christie and a hell of a lot of others deserve to give a major apologize to Blumenthal. But that should all start with the Judy Miller rag. But I think their arrogance from the ACORN era will prevent them from doing so for another while. Journalism rolls in its grave yet again for another day in America.

  The best analysis of smart and timely move from Mr. Sargent : Richard Blumenthal just wrapped up his damage control presser, and it seems obvious enough that he'll survive this mess. Quick reaction: * It was obviously a well-staged event; he was joined on the stage by veterans who were visibly and emotionally pulling for him. They reacted with seemingly genuine anger when a reporter asked Blumenthal if he felt he should apologize, which was a nice touch. This event was orchestrated by professionals, almost certainly with extensive input from national Dems. The generally defiant tone Blumenthal struck suggests that he's been told by the big national players that he should be able to survive this. He repeatedly said he regretted misspeaking. But no apology. And the ending: Botttom line: It seems clear he'll survive. But man, what a colossal train wreck. Don't do it again, Dick. It is some of the best stuff you will read all day, guaranteed.
