The Friday Fun Thread For 8/20/10 (Special Edition): The End Of A (Blogging Era)

Image
One of the most synonymous bloggers in the rational news online era (the rise of the left blogopshere) has been the always delightful Amanda Terkel. One of many key figures as to why Think Progress has become one of the most powerful news sites on all the net, Ms. Terkel is just a person who, unless you are an Bill O'Liely creepy stalker lackey, is so likable for her assiduity and her warm personality. So news of her announcing her final day at Think Progress just a while ago is certainly something that came right out of the blue . Wherever Ms. Terkel goes to next, hopefully she'll continue being one of the premiere blogging reporters in all of the Internet land. Unless of course, that leads to the Television set as well. Until then, I am just as sadden as those at the Center for American Progress that she has to go. Because they sure know that she was just as special as, if not more than, her reporting. Much love to you Amanda. And from The Whole Delivery, God bl...

The Daily Open Thread For 11/30/09: Runthrough

Your daily delivery of open thread goodness! Donny Deutsch keeps it real again. All was good in that segment outside of Jim Cramer being a clown as always, but what is up with them paying the instrumental to Nas "Ain't Hard To Tell." Oh dear, the House Homeland Security Committee is asking the attention whores to testify on Thursday . I don't understand all the criticism on Mike Huckabee for that nutcase in Seattle murdering those officers yesterday . It hurts him politically in some way just because of what transpired, but how was he suppose to know this was going to happen? And those who hope clemency is used more with executive power (i.e., Rick Perry) shouldn't then be cheering about this at all in glee for Huckabee going down. His record did that by itself before this happened. Man this Mark Kirk guy is an idiot . Additional Deliveries You can vote on the video game of the decade . Speaking of video games, MIT has another interesting study that you may want ...

The Daily Open Thread For 10/20/09: Another Reason Why They Are Out Of Touch

The Onion's Capital Hill panel talks about another way the Obamas are just out of touch in the long scheme of things: Poll: Happy, Healthy Obamas Out Of Touch With Miserable Americans Additional Deliveries: It was already weird seeing Jay-Z on there. It was even weirder when Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield had their reunion on their last week. But the bizarre level will raise higher with this one . Another nutcase House Republican that you will get to know . Google releasing their own phone ? People have too much social media time on their hands . And when you click on that link, that will prove that I'm not a hypocrite here. Because I don't have THAT MUCH time on mines to compile all of that. More to come today at TWD, stay tuned.

Evening Open Thread for 5/24/09: NBA. com Has Their TMZ Moment

Image
From NBA.com I wonder who at NBA.com thought it was cool to place Kobe's personal biz as a headline? (Click if need to see the text better). Blame it on the wi wi wi wi wi wi wi wife indeed for the whole matter , but still? If this is going to be a regular theme, we may need to contact DWade before it gets completely out of control. Update : Also a little peculiar to see up there is Mark Cuban battle with the SEC. Now, it is much less personal than say Kobe's business, but I wouldn't have expected that. Would you?
