Well this Lakers and Cavs game was so pathetic that these two things happened: The photo of the night, where the Lakers again have injury woes RT @nbarocksstc : Kamans couch pic.twitter.com/kmPQXRwXSi — Andrew Jerell Jones (@sluggahjells) February 6, 2014 Only the woeful Cavs & the Lakers can make us bring out the "Team can't have less than 5 players" rule out the book pic.twitter.com/RMvE9xmmJB — Andrew Jerell Jones (@sluggahjells) February 6, 2014 The Lakers somehow won despite being technically reduced to four men, showing how egregious the Cavs have become in the last month and a half. The Rest In what is shaping up to possibly be the worst winter Olympics ever, Shaun White has decided to pull out of the slopestyle event to solely focus on winning a third straight gold medal in halfpipe. So many problems with this games, making this like an Olympic problem on steroids with how ugly the news continues to be on it. If the NFL and Roger Goodell ...

The Beltway Nonsense Runthrough For 1/7/13: Drone Torture Love

Image
The continuation of America's intelligence imperialism was highlighted today by torture/drone advocate John Brennan be selected by Obama today, but in no surprise whatsoever though. All the attention has been given to nutcase Republicans making fake outrage over Hagel, but in a sane society, we wouldn't tolerate centrist Obama's continued preference to not alter the culture of US ridiculousness. The Runthrough GOP math surely is no higher than arithmetic . Matt Stroller on our lazy corporations . So embarrassing for Milford, Delaware . More from The Whole Delivery, with coverage of the BS BCS title game later on this evening.

Quick news runthrough here: Getty Images' Joe Robbins A common sense move that needed to happen seems on the verge of being official : There are indications that manager Reds Dusty Baker will sign a contract extension, and that it will happen soon. The Dayton Daily News reported Thursday that Baker and the club were close to a deal that would bring back the 61-year-old skipper. Baker, the Reds' manager since 2008, was offered a new deal in mid-August but has refused to speak publicly about negotiations. The offer was believed to be for at least two seasons. He earned around $10.5 million during his current three-year deal. Alberto Contador really brought a needed level of integrity to the sport of cycling, didn't he? News on the Jets front, as they signed Trevor Pryce away from the Ravens today , while Darelle Revis has been ruled out against the Bills this weekend . David Stern really does represent his last name : Washington Wizards majority owner Ted Leonsi...

Music Thread #1 For 9/28/10: The Runthrough, Including New Album Release Tuesday

Some notable album releases today, including Aloe Blacc's "Good Things", Ben Folds & Nick Hornby "Lonely Avenue", and Deerhunter's "Halcyon Digest." Speaking of one of the CD's that was originally suppose to drop this day, here is a great example of the pathetic times in music we live in : T.I. is still hiding out following his arrest last month, but his producer pal Pharrell is promising that his forthcoming 'King Uncaged,' album will be memorable, in spite of label pressure. According to the Neptunes frontman, who worked on the album, Tip is experiencing stress from his record label, Atlantic Records, to put out more pop-friendly songs. "He's got a crazy album. I saw, like, 60 records, and almost every record that he played me was really incredible," Pharell told MTV News. "Then there was the more poppier side of things, where the label kinda puts the gun to your head 'cause they gotta pay their bills ...

Photo from The Star-Ledger William The premiere of Hard Knocks on HBO tomorrow won't be happy one for Jets fans, thanks to Woody Johnson not being a smart guy and having his gut deliver a message to his big mouth about Darelle Revis sitting out the entire season. Johnson was just dumb to make those comments public like that yesterday. I could understand (even if he is still wrong) if he kept that sentiment yesterday on Revis inside in his mind and gave Jeremy Schaap a simple "We're still talking and we hope we can strike a deal" line. With the Revis hold out continuing, time in the spotlight is now for Kyle Wilson . It truly is amazing how Percy Harvin has made it this far in that sport with so many migraines . After three misses starts, Stephen Strasburg is back on the hill for the Nationals tonight against the Marlins. It looks like Ilya Kovalchuk could still wind up with the Devils : Lou Lamoriello, the Devils' president and general manager, issu...

Andre 3 Stacks is back. I repeat, Andre 3000 stacks is back!!!! Justin Bieber gets hit buy a bottle.......but this happened all the week in December and didn't get out until now ? I guess news doesn't travel as fast as it normally does nowadays : Why did Erykah have to have this clown in the remix video....Sigh I already have low expectations for the second video, if there is even a "To Be Continued." I and many others have been burned by that one before. Nelly is still big enough to cause controversy ? Indeed so. Talib and Hi Tek always knew Kanye was the man even before Jay and Dame really did: The comeback of the year in rap is looking to clearly be Camron . But I still say the "Speakin Tungs" video is yet another dreadful effort at visual concepts. The video could have easily be easily in the club and entertaining, but instead is just a lazy piece of crap:

The Redskins demand that Mr. Weight Loss Program be given an MRI on his left knee : Even as the Washington Redskins ordered an MRI exam on Albert Haynesworth's sore left knee, coach Mike Shanahan gave yet another reason why he is adamant about having the two-time All-Pro defensive tackle pass the team's conditioning test. Haynesworth, according to the coach, missed way too many practices last season. "I've got all the stats in there, how many games he played where he didn't practice throughout the whole week," Shanahan said. "If you don't practice, you're not going to play well. ... My job is to make sure he can play the best once we start our season, and that's to get him in football shape. We'll make sure when he is ready to go, he can go full speed." Here we go folks: Yes Michael Schumacher, you did cross the line yesterday with that disgusting move. And the fact it took you almost a day to realize that is quite sad : n post-race interviews the Mercedes driver suggested his tactics had been harsh but fair. However, having received a 10-place grid penalty for the next round from the Budapest stewards - and having had a day to reflect - Schumacher has now conceded that he overstepped the mark. “Yesterday right after the race I was still in the heat of the moment, but after I watched the scene with Rubens again, I must say that the stewards were right in their assessment - the manoeuvre against him was too hard,” he told his official website. “Of course I wanted to make it difficult for him to overtake and I showed him clearly that I didn’t want to let him down the inside, but I wasn’t trying to endanger him with my manoeuvre. If he felt that way, then sorry, that was not my intention.” Darrelle Revis is the 7th highest paid d...

U2 has a new song they would like everyone to hear : Common will have a re-release of "Resurrection", his 2nd album terrific effort . He is definitely a smart kid . As you all know by now, Mashonda's favorite two people in the world got married over the weekend . Also marrying this weekend, though more quietly, were T.I . and Jazzy Jeff . You're probably well aware of what Lady Gaga did over the weekend . She didn't cancel her concert in Arizona, yet rallied against SB 1070 despite it of course not having the controversial elements in it.

Look who says she will be coming back at the start of next year : After years of keeping her fans waiting, Amy Winehouse has promised that she'll release a new album by January of next year. "The album will be six months at the most," Winehouse told Metro UK, who caught up with the singer this week at the London premiere of the film "Psychosis." "It's going to be very much the same as my second album, where there's a lot of jukebox stuff and songs that are… just jukebox, really." "I just can't wait to have new songs on stage, really," Winehouse added. Another nice prison letter from Lil Wayne . Ne-Yo's new videos, even though he is usually been terrible at making videos:

Look who did a video together........awwwwwwww at the mentor and menteeness : Eminem gave fans a nice surprise in Manhattan early this morning , as his album drops today: "Call me Tiger, my wood's been everywhere," rapped D.N.A., a fervent Queens MC, at the opening night of Eminem's battle series EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile last night at New York's Bowery Ballroom. The event was billed as a showcase for up-and-coming talent, but the poorly kept secret was that Slim Shady himself was in the house for a surprise set the same day his 17-track Recovery — the follow-up to 2009's Relapse, his first album after five years of depression, drug addiction and being slumped at rock bottom — hit stores. This is too funny indeed, as Fabolous rung the NASDAQ bell yesterday : Fabolous, along with members of the charity organization After-School All-Stars, visited the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City's Time Square today (June 21) to ring the NASDAQ morning bell. ...

I'm sorry Christina Aguliera fans, but she is nothing but desperate nowadays. Lady Gaga has truly gotten into her lane. Your new Rihanna hairstyle if you haven't seen it yet: Yeah, just a little interesting. A fluffy Drake interview from Fuse: Speaking of another Drake interview, good for Heeb . Quality new video from Statik Selektah with Bun B, Wale, and Colin Monroe doing it big here, as well as one of the actress in the video that I know through online. Good to AZ back again, no matter what it is: AZ "Feel My Pain" (Official video) from Clockwork Music on Vimeo . If you care, Camron was at Summer jam yesterday. Sports Thread For #1 For 3/30/10: The Runthrough

Later today, the 2nd sports thread will have the live stream hopefully of Bayern Munich vs Manchester United today in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. With last night's win....... The Nets are now good enough to potentially win in the Final Four. This one really annoyed me yesterday, but how do you chose Scottie Reynolds, who struggled at year's end as did his Villanova team as well, over Sherron Collins on 1st team All-America? Collins was not just the best player on the best team in the country, but he also came through in the clutch almost as much as Evan Turner did for Ohio State this year. Who the hell voted on Reynolds over Collins is beyond me? Oregon is really really desperate for Tom Izzo if that was true (which they are denying, while their interest in Tubby Smith seems very real ). But with how he has led this team to the Final Four this year is another reason why you can't quibble with him potentially being the highest paid coach in the NCAA. ...

It seems another suicide bomb has occurred in Pakistan (Photo from EPA) The big news today comes out of Pakistan , with government officials blaming the Taliban: A series of attacks in Pakistan's second city, Lahore, has killed dozens of people and wounded more than 100 others, police say. At least 45 people, including 10 soldiers, were killed in Friday's first attack - a double bombing aimed at military vehicles, police said. A second attack later in the day near a police station is reported to have claimed another four lives. The double bombing occurred in RA Bazaar, a residential and commercial neighbourhood where several security agencies have facilities. "Two suicide bombers attacked within the span of 15 to 20 seconds and they were on foot," Tariq Saleem Dogar, the chief of Punjab police, said. A day after wild protests hit the nation's streets, feelings have calmed at little over in Greece over the austerity plans. Photo from AP Photo's Petr...

Music Thread #1 For 2/22/10: Is Jay-Z Involved In Possible Paterson Problems: Not A Good Day For Travis Barker

The runthrough : An interesting case is brewing, as Jay-Z seems to be indirectly apart of the growing headaches that David Paterson is dealing with . Jay-Z’s relationship with NY Governor David Paterson is one of the points of interest in a federal investigation into AEG’s multi-billion dollar deal for the Aqueduct Race Track racino. The issue revolves around whether the bid selection process was unethical. Questions have arose following AEG’s successful bid since they courted Jay-Z, a good friend of Gov. Paterson, several months before the racino selection was completed. Last month, Governor Patterson awarded AEG (Aqueduct Entertainment Group) with the contract to upgrade the existing Aqueduct Race Track venue, the only one located within the New York City limits. Expect more on this story as time goes on. For your rare American Idol weekly news to be highlighted here, Simon Cowell seems to prefer Perez Hilton over Howard Stern . I can sure bet that despite how painful your...

The Regular Runthrough For 1/4/10

Busy today with stuff.....the run through is quite long and entertaining: Even if they are the leaders of racists, why give racists the time of day. We know they are stupid people, so why bother with stuff that was almost a year ago ? Hope the salient point I have stayed has been made after seeing that. Even if they used Google , they probably wouldn't be able to read it properly. Just like with Dreck with his appendix, I guess Blowbaugh likes the SEIU union socialized medicine hospitals. The chants of a second stimulus will continue to exist . Yemen is letting it be known now that there will be no foreign intervention into their country in dealing with Al Qaeda. Not a belief that I will go to Vegas and bent the 40 acres on. Another future Minnesota nutcase to hear from in the future? That George Soros-Hillary Clinton line has been taken into the new decade I see. What a surprise. I will thank the Lord if this slowly fades away from our vapid corporate media's eyes . I wi...

The runthrough: Thankfully for Beanie Sigel and all that know him, he did not sustain serious injuries in a car accident he was in on Saturday night According to representatives for the rapper, a large tractor trailer truck ran the rapper's vehicle off the road while he was driving in Baltimore, MD. Sigel was apprently not the driver of the car, but he did sustain injuries to his face, arms and legs. The rapper's injuries are presumably not severe, as he did not go to the hospital after the incident. It is not known, however, whether anyone else in the vehicle was injured. Sade's "Soldier Of Love" track list is released. It will be a ten song album . Radiohead is coming back ! Radiohead plans to return to the studio next month to continue work on its next album, which began over the summer. "The vibe in the camp is fantastic at present," guitarist Ed O'Brien wrote over the weekend on Radiohead.com. "I am so genuinely excited about what we...

The legend that is Martin Brodeur continues to grow (Photo from Getty Images) The runthrough before Sports Saturday: The fine levied on Brandon Jennings shows just how strict and dumb the NBA and sports organizations are in regards to Twitter . Another Republican athlete . It is a little silly, just like with the World Cup, to fully predict who will win in the Round of 16 for the Champions League. We don't know who will get hurt, and which teams will fall out of form when the competition resumes in February. But you can clearly say that the pressure is on Jose Mourinho, who's Inter Milan side were dealt another cruel draw. Last year they "deserved" to play Manchester United, Mourinho said after a very disappointing group campaign that saw them finish runner up to Panathinakos. But by finishing second to Barcelona in the clear "Group of Death" in this year's installment, Inter will have to face their manager's former club Chelsea in a tie that has all...

Yeah, like Chris Brown really needs to have a fight with Jay-Z (and more a little later on other things Mr. Shawn has to deal with in this thread.) Oh man, now Wyclef is starting to believe the rumors that deep down, he doesn't believe in . Yeah, Adam Lambert is in the news . What else is new? Tisk tisk tisk, Giant Magazine is going bye bye . Guns n Roses are coming to South America . And No Beanie , I don't think Nas will waste his time with this. And Jay-Z won't ask him too. More to come.....

The Adam Lambert thing will get addressed later on if I have time and energy today to talk about it, but here is the whole news run through: Well, at least they left him before he had the chance to leave them ! Diddy's boy group Day26 have reportedly parted ways with the rap mogul's Bad Boy Entertainment label. According to Day26's Willie, the group still maintains a level of respect and unity with Puff's label. They haven't gotten any traction at all in their careers since winning on that show. But at least they didn't let him do to them what he has done to "Dream", "Tha Band" "B-5", and "Danity Kane!" The Used are still around it seems . There's rumors of a potential Jimmy Page, Aerosmith, and Eric Clapton formed supergroup album. That is pretty serious news in the rock world. Apparently, Timbaland took off Chris Brown on his upcoming Shock Value 2 album. Even more newsworthy is the fact that Timbaland is even maki...
