Take it back to 15 Spring seasons ago, back in 2001, where So So Def's ATL group was in its prime. After "Let's Get Married," Jermaine Dupri's 4-man unit equaled its friendly rivals 112 at the time with top single after top single in the black music world.  With Nelly emerging at the same time, it was the right combination for a hit that still goes strong in 2016. With the Christmas tree in the background, a promise is required to you all and a promise is kept, as Jagged Edge's tearjerking ballad "Promise" serves as one of two holiday Sunday Soulfuls this year in the next two weeks. This is TWD.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street crew are still going strong . Didn't know this, but Jagged Edge is signed to Slip-n-Slide Records . And they highlighted their frustration over being at Def Jam. "The Def Jam situation wasn't best-suited for us," he says. "When we went to Def Jam there were already issues between L.A. Reid and Jermaine Dupri, which we didn't know about. With the Christmas tree in the opening scene, and a few of the decorations in the video's background, it was fitting that today's throwback video is the tearjerking classic from Jagged Edge called "Promise". The video,filmed eight years ago at around this time, is always a joy for both R&B fans and supporters of other genres. And for this week, it is the Flashback throwback on TWD Weekend.
