From Saturday Night Sigh's episode this week. Thank goodness he didn't golden shower her, although this "sex" scene performance is so Rated "PG" compared to dance half festivals.  I wonder how Akon felt? Man, Akon, you need to comeback strong.  More to come from The Whole Delivery today, stay tuned.

Music Thread #1 For 7/2/10 (1st Version): The Runthrough

U2 has a new song they would like everyone to hear : Common will have a re-release of "Resurrection", his 2nd album terrific effort . He is definitely a smart kid . As you all know by now, Mashonda's favorite two people in the world got married over the weekend . Also marrying this weekend, though more quietly, were T.I . and Jazzy Jeff . You're probably well aware of what Lady Gaga did over the weekend . She didn't cancel her concert in Arizona, yet rallied against SB 1070 despite it of course not having the controversial elements in it.

Music Thread #1 For 6/3/10: The Important Point & Counterpoint On Drake

Image
If you like Drake, you will like the second half of this post. If you hate drake you will definitely like the beginning of this post. If you respect both sides of the argument on Drake, you will love this post. For the argument in defense of man who's CD leaked yesterday and drops next Tuesday is provided by one of the more competent and underrated voices in all of the Internet in Davey D. Now this based on a post from the esteemed Marc Lamount Hill basically freely Drake hating and hating constantly , representing those who are tired of the Toronto rapper every 15 minutes they see or hear him (or about him.) I hate him. There I said it. To be clear, I don’t have any personal beef with Drake. While I’ve never met him, I don’t doubt that he’s a decent and well-intentioned person. Still, I hate him. And you can’t stop me. Why? Because he represents several things that I find troublesome about the current mainstream hip-hop scene. First, there’s the music. While there’s n...

The Fun Thread #1 For 4/30/10: Openly Gays Aren't Allowed In The Army, But A Lady Gaga Video Parody Dancing Is?

John McCain and all the bigots may have a hissy fit if they see this video. Especially since it was in Afghanistan where this all went down at. And they may somehow use this video to highlight once again their lovely bigoted position of how gays shouldn't be in the military, even hough Lady Gaga isn't gay. Oh......and if they use that philosophy, then I guess that means that these individuals who participated in this hilarious video must be discharged from their units. More to come in the fun thread folks.

Music Thread #2 For 3/11/10: Lady Gaga Feat Beyonce - Telephone

Gosh, this video is so damn long: Yup, Beyonce' still can't act.

Music Thread #1 For 3/11/10: Lady Antebellum Takes Back The Top Spot Over Sade

Image
Since Billboard wasn't as early as they usually are with releasing the news on Wednesday, I had to postpone the album sales report until today. Then again, with how dreadful these album sales figures were, I guess maybe that is a reason why they were a little tardy. Regardless of it, Lady Antebellum won't be complaing, as they flip flop spots with Sade to be this week's #1 : Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, bumping Sade's "Soldier of Love" down to No. 2, while six albums debut in the top 10 of the tally, the most since last October. After a three-week break at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" returns to No. 1 with 126,000 (up 6%), marking its third total week atop the list. It opened at No. 1 with 481,000 six weeks ago, and then held at No. 1 for a second week with 209,000. The set stepped aside for three weeks to the runner-up slot, playing second...

Music Thread #1 For 12/2/09: Susan Boyle Wows With Massive First Week Sales

Image
I always love an underrated story...and man, that is certainly the case with one Susan Boyle. I (and many others I might add) didn't expect this. But I am pleasantly surprised YouTube sensation and former "Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle's debut album "I Dreamed a Dream" opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 701,000 copies sold in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan -- the best sales week for an album in the U.S. this year. 2009's previous high-water mark came when Eminem's "Relapse" sold 608,000 in its opening week. In fact, Boyle's sales frame is the best the chart has seen since AC/DC's "Black Ice" bowed with 784,000 upon its release in October 2008. 700K copies! And get this great stat The arrival of "I Dreamed a Dream" also marks the best opening week for a female artist's debut album since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. Boyle beats out Ashanti for t...

Music Thread #2 For 11/16/09: Beyonce feat Lady Gaga- Video Phone

Just another ho-hum video in my mind from her....but whatever. At the 3:59 mark, I swear Beyonce's looked like Ashanti from that standpoint.

Music Thread #1 For 10/1/09: Well, What Do You Know, He Was Healthy (And Kanye/Gaga Tour Cancelled)

Image
But, but, but, but, the media people said he was popping pills and was frailer than a pop sickle Despite reports that he was painfully thin and frail and allegedly had a dangerous addiction to prescription medications, a Los Angeles County coroner's office report on Michael Jackson claims the 50-year-old singer was in good health at the time of his death in June. According to a copy of the report obtained by The Associated Press , Jackson's arms were covered with puncture wounds and the autopsy showed that his lungs were chronically inflamed and had a reduced capacity that might have left the once-energetic performer short of breath. But the report claims that the singer was in fairly good condition at the time that he died of an overdose of the anesthetic propofol in June. Though some stories claimed he was around a skeletal 105 pounds at the time of his death, the autopsy document says he weighed 136 pounds, which is in an acceptable range for a 5-foot-9 man. The report also...

Music Thread #1 For 8/27/09: The Runthrough

(Photo: Daniel Mihailescu/ Getty Images ) Madonna got booed massively last night in Romania. And the reason why : ....that is, until she denounced the pandemic discrimination of Gypsies. Then, the crowd turned on her. There are many videos on Youtube on the concert form last night, including this one. Though I don't think it's her getting booed. Moving on, a misleading headline from ALLHipHop.com So, are the Black Eyed Peas banning Muslims from their concerts? Um, not the case : The government of Malaysia has banned Muslims from attending a Black Eyed Peas concert in the country, because the event is sponsored by alcohol company Guinness. The government issued the ban after learning that the Black Eyed Peas would be celebrating the 250th anniversary of Guinness’ first brewery as part of a concert at a theme park in Kuala Lumpur on September 25. “The party is only open to non-Muslims aged 18 years and above,” a representative for the Ministry of Information, Communication and...

Music Thread #2 for 7/13/09: Lady Gaga Makes History

Image
She's just as talented as she is annoying Lady GaGa becomes just the third artist in the 16-year history of the Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart to collect three No. 1 songs from a debut album. "LoveGame" (Interscope) rises 2-1, marking Lady GaGa's third No. 1, following "Just Dance" (two weeks) and "Poker Face" (five weeks). The three songs appear on her top five Billboard 200 album, "The Fame." The set has sold 1,162,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Music Thread #1 for 7/6/09: Wale ft Lady Gaga, "Chillin" And More

I'm a month late with this one, I know, but first time I saw the video yesterday. Shot in Boston just as much as it was in D.C., so lying is going down right now. Very good effort for sure. Memo to HipHopDx.....Jonathan Stewart isn't a star.....yet. The Game is such a loser. He really is. Now BET regrets that Drake and lil Wayne "Every Girl" performance. “BET Networks deeply regrets the performance by Young Money [click to read] at the BET AWARDS,” a BET representative told AllHipHop.com. “Elements of the performance were unplanned and should not have happened.” Now they do. But I won't hold my breath on any regrets for that Toya and Tanya garbage they are airing.
