Take it back a decade ago, with the album and the single that was the turning point for Ms. Fenty's career. It was the lead single for her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, and she just celebrated the 10th anniversary of her turning point album being released on Instagram a few days ago. And it's only more fitting that this is a Flashback Friday choice this week, with her being at NBA Finals Game 1 and Kevin Durant having to slap down that staredown rumor hard (damn you Robert Littal). Anyway, it's your first of several Flashback Friday choices this week. It's Rihanna and Hov with the Tricky Stewart/TheDream/Kuk Harrell produced classic, "Umbrella."

Before she became known for threatening to beat b----es up for money to the current entertaining, original brash superstar she is now, this is when it all started for one Ms. Fenty 10 years ago. This video is another phenomenal effort from him, and even with a mediocre album, he made this happen with such a smart concept to go back to some of his old music videos. Terrific, terrific. It won't boost the sales for the disappointment that was "Rated R", but the effort to try to make standout over the top videos is still there:

In an apparent piracy crackdown, Sony has blocked her videos; visit the channel and you're likely to see a message: “This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.” I really wish Beyonce' would take a stand here and call her label out if she knows anything about this. I would instantly become a supporter of hers if she did just that. Sadly, she'll probably keep quiet and continue to just happily collect the fat checks. And artists will once again miss a chance to turn around the power in the industry away from the corrupt...

The runthrough: Thankfully for Beanie Sigel and all that know him, he did not sustain serious injuries in a car accident he was in on Saturday night According to representatives for the rapper, a large tractor trailer truck ran the rapper's vehicle off the road while he was driving in Baltimore, MD. Sigel was apprently not the driver of the car, but he did sustain injuries to his face, arms and legs. The rapper's injuries are presumably not severe, as he did not go to the hospital after the incident. It is not known, however, whether anyone else in the vehicle was injured. So far, "I Dreamed a Dream" has sold 1.8 million and is racing after Taylor Swift's "Fearless," currently the top selling album of 2009 with 2.7 million. Along with "Fearless," Boyle's "Dream" is just the second album to spend three weeks at No. 1 this year. Swift's album spent seven weeks at No. 1 in the 2009 calendar year, in addition to three weeks atop the chart in late 2008. And get this latest set of history from Boyle: "I Dreamed a Dream" is also just the eighth album to sell at least 500,000 copies in each of its first three weeks of release, since SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. Last week, after the news of Susan Boyle's wonderful first week sales, I said this : Boyle is on the road to going platinum in three weeks here, and it wouldn't be foolhardy to think she could push 300K in her second week (though I don't think it will happen). I really thought at day's end this week, Boyle would be within a whisker of going platinum. I was wrong. By a long, LONG shot. I always love an underrated story...and man, that is certainly the case with one Susan Boyle. I (and many others I might add) didn't expect this. But I am pleasantly surprised YouTube sensation and former "Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle's debut album "I Dreamed a Dream" opens at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart with 701,000 copies sold in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan -- the best sales week for an album in the U.S. this year. 2009's previous high-water mark came when Eminem's "Relapse" sold 608,000 in its opening week.
