Music Thread #1 For 4/22/10: Quick New Artists Shoutout: MoShadee And

Image
New artist shoutout on this Thursday is definitely in store to the good folks I know at Pocket Full Of Paper, as the growing site headlines their artist Moshadee and his "The Progression" Mixtape. It is a quality refreshing listen from a new artist helping to put Jersey back on top of the urban music game. You can give him the shoutout at his Twitter page as well as the good folks at PFOP . Also, a new shoutout is definitely in store to across the pond over in London, with the R & B lovely artist Midega deserving some attention: Check her Myspace page out as her album comes out on May 10, as well as her Twitter page . In other news The late DJ AM, Adam Goldstein , will be getting a tribute after his shocking death last summer in Iron Man 2, as they have left his scenes in the film. Crystal Bowersox shoots down the rumors that she was on the verge of quitting American Idol this year . And I really don't care about this drama with Solar and DJ Premier...

Music Thread #1 For 9/29/09: The Runthrough, Including Nas Thoughts on Derrion Albert And "The Boss" News

Image
In the continued aftermath of Derrion Albert, Nas offered his thought on such a tragic event . The Duh of the month , even though I still believe it was staged. DJ AM's death was caused by an accidental overdose . Sad. Forgot this dude was even on "Dancing With The Stars." Talk about being forgotten. The latest rapper to get a reality show....... Fabolous . Just when I think things will be right with DMX, he goes and does something like this . Just crazy. And "The Boss" is still rolling strong. More to come, Peace. The Break: DJ AM Found Dead

Image
Crazy sad. Sources tell us he was found in his apartment at around 5:20 PM. We're told drug paraphernalia was found at the scene. Our sources say DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days -- one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door. We're told the friend called the police, who broke down the door and then found DJ AM's body. More on this shocking, SHOCKING sad news later.

Music Thread #1 for 10/14/08- Madonna Has Some Harsh Words For Palin

Image
Once again, I apologize for not posting a music news thread in a few days. Times get hectic, and that has been the case recently. In fact, it has always been the case, but you catch my drift. Anyway, here is the first of two news threads in the music world today (I promise there will be two). (Photo: Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images ) Haha, those Philly fans on Saturday will have a hard time beating Madonna in having the most disgust for Sarah Palin in this country (outside of Alaska and Walt Monegan of course). This is too hilarious : Madonna first banned the governor from the tour. In between sets, she screamed, "Sarah Palin can't come to my party! Sarah Palin can't come to my show!" As the week progressed, Madonna even threatened to "kick her ass." HAHAHAHAHAHA. Maybe the label was so freaked out that they had to say something to the material girl. "It's a metaphor," she said. "She's in the Republican Party, I'm in the Democratic P...

Music Thread for 9/29/08- Rap City Joins TRL on the Shelf (And the Economy Has Nothing to do with It)

Image
Photo from ATLNightLife: Thanks to it being an original, most impressive chain, Sean Kingston became the latest person in the urban music world to have his chain jacked. Quick News thread run through. Some good, some bad, and some that is quite frankly, deserved Especially the first two stories. Rap City is done. BET is pulling the plug on a show that long ago should of have been pulled out. No one was watching it anymore, and even if Q45 tried his best after the failure that was Madd Linx, the writing was on the all. At least they can put on another mediocre black sitcom on their afternoon block. Here's looking at LL Cool J's "In The House." Hahahaha, that's what you get for spending half a mill on a chain. Sean Kingston $500,000 chain has been stolen from the mail. The teen rapper, best known for his Summer 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls, had his sister FedEx the gawdy chain from Los Angeles to New York but when the package arrived on Sean’s doorstep (a day late...
