The day after a forgettable election night, President Obama indicated in his press conference that he is still opened to close talks with Republicans. "We must find common ground, I am very eager to sit down with members of both parties." But despite most of the White House press corps asking the same question on whether his policies and not the economy caused the massive loss of Democratic power, highlighted by the House going away, Obama firmly rejected that notion. It was the usual centrist speech that was expected after a rough day, as guaranteed gridlock in already dysfunctional Washington D.C. comes. In this author's perspective however, the highlight for the press conference wasn't even Obama's answers or demeanors, but another indication of how awful the press is for this nation. The Social Security report just came out today, and as expected, news organizations like CBS are providing the alarmist headlines placating into those deserving to harm the very stable program. And CBS (along with the Associated Press) sure did have quite the lead in to support that knee jerk (and very false) title : The annual checkup of the government's big benefit programs for the elderly shows the Social Security program is projected to pay out more in benefits than it collects in taxes for the first time this year and next year. The Social Security trust fund is expected to be exhausted in 2037, the same date as in last year's report. Yesterday on CNN, both Rick Sanchez and Anderson " BOTH SIDES DO IT " Cooper asked one of the all time most incompetent and egregious questions ever on American news television, saying to their viewers "Where is all the oil?" As most know the story by now, Phil Griffin banned Kos today from MSNBC because Joe Scarborough runs his world . Greg Sargent brings up a great point of how hypocritical and utterly gutless Griffin's decision was.
