Our Horrible Centrism Media Thread For 12/3/12:

Image
Photo from Pete Souza In reminding our indolent and arrogant colleagues in centrism American media once again that only one side is to blame for this wrongly labeled 'fiscal cliff' nonsense, intrepid Greg Sargent this morning displays the latest reason why Republicans are fully incapable of ever being rational or honest again . As always, there simply isn't any equivalence here. Even if you think the Democratic offer is too light on spending cuts, the basic fact remains that Dems have made a substantial proposal, while Republicans haven't. Now it's just important for most to recognize here, especially rational people in this country (which consist of liberal Americans who pay attention, who know who they are dealing with in regards to all current political figures, and/or who are not knee jerk pessimists or polemics), this salient point in my view: Deep down inside, Obama knows a majority of Republicans in these modern times just will never agree to ever ...

The 1st Thread For 10/1/10: Proud To Give Money To Republican Wannabes

Image
Bobby Bright isn't just your typical annoying Blue Dog. For this week, Bright has made himself standout as the ideal example of how to just put a "D" after your name to get elected and do almost the exact opposite of what representing that "D" is. A few days ago, Bright was one of 3 Democrats to proudly join the nutcase party to vote against providing 9/11 heroes' needed health . And in his effort to top that hideous action, Bright has released this ad touting how much of a BFF he is to Mr. Tang of all individuals . I don't think even most Republicans would have their commercial indicate how they have an "80% voting record with John Boehner." Yet, because he has that wonderful "D" right after his name, this incumbent from Alabama's 2nd district gets a continued pledge from the DCCC: This is where the whole "Big Tent Party" theory can't even save face here. Here's a classless individual who then has ...

The 1st Thread For 9/13/10: Normalizing The Crazy The Best They Can

The son of Tim Russert surely asserted his growing rule in our modern day Jokenalism, trying to make a crazy rich man seem like a down to Earth wholesome guy on Mo(u)rning Jo(k)e. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy He had 11 other siblings. He played football. He was bossy and swept the floor at a restaurant. Yes, that qualifies him fully as a man who represents the values of middle class Americans. Even if he supports policies that continue to ship middle class jobs overseas to foreign nations, supports tax cuts only for rich folks like him, and wants to gut and eviscerate any government program that benefits the middle class among many out of touch insane things, he is just a regular good ol' mid-American boy that could be the next Speaker of the House. Yup, nothing about his limited worldwide, nothing about his constant love of golfing, nothing at all about the fool that he is now. And oh, did we mentioned it took 7 years for him ...

They Don't Care At All

Yesterday, "Mr. Tang", saying he doesn't listen to economists or look at GDP numbers : What a surprise. But they not only don't care about you (unless you're part of their country club guest list). They don't even care about that thing they are always claiming nowadays that they care about. It starts with the word "D" and it rhymes with ignorant, which is a perfect description for all of these idiots. Mr Tang's Robin, the Cantor one : CANTOR : Well, what I said in the beginning is, if you have less revenues coming in to the federal government, and more expenditures, what does that add up to? Certainly you are going to dig the hole deeper, but you also have to understand if the priority is to get people back to work, is to start growing this economy again, you don’t want to make it more expensive for job creators.

The More Orange He Becomes, The More Stupid He Gets

Image
Photo from AFP Inception? No . The Dark Knight? No. Spider-Man, Hell no. The Orange Man, John Boehner, has the biggest summer blockbusters of all time . A day after calling for repeal of the new financial regulatory reform bill, John Boehner is going even further: He's calling for a moratorium on all new Federal regulations -- in the name of job creation. Here's what he told reporters moments ago, per a transcript that was sent my way: " I think having a moratorium on new federal regulations is a great idea it sends a wonderful signal to the private sector that they're going to have some breathing room. " This guy has a chance, just a chance, to become Speaker of the House. Just digest that possibly once more if your eyes allow it. But he sure won't place a moratorium on tanning beds, that's for sure!

They Made Him Apologize For His Apology

Image
Photo from Reuters' Jonathan Ernst The damage control has been quite phenomenal . The story may not be over for GOP Rep Joe Barton. Even though he has now issued a statement retracting his apology to BP, House GOP leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor privately warned him that if he screws up again, he'll lose his slot as ranking Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, a senior GOP aide tells me. "This may not be the end of the story," the aide says, adding that if he starts making similar noises about BP, he's out. "Boehner and Cantor told him he came within a centimeter of losing his seat, and to strongly keep that in mind." I'm also told that Barton's retraction came after Boehner and Cantor exerted heavy pressure on him, and that there was wrangling over Barton's final statement -- another sign that GOP leaders knew just how lethal Barton's apology to BP was for the party. The damage control continues. Update: And I ...

The Sleep Time and Rise "n" Shine Thread For 3/24-25/10: Earthquake in Manilla

Image
Late 1:50 AM : There has been a 6.1 earthquake in The Philippines , will keep you updated on that in the morning. Updated 2 : As you probably heard by now, no signs of damage or causalities has been reported. Relief. Marijuana is now on the ballot in California for November. Oh man . Haha, The Orangeman said that a tax on tanning discriminates against white people . What a loser. On a serious note, here is an IGTNT memorial for this thread, as we remember the lives of Sgt. Joel D. Clarkson, Chief Petty Officer Adam Brown, and Spc. Robert M. Rieckhoff . God bless to their families and for just being brave and loving the nation. To Tevin.......God bless to you, and see you on the flip:

Despite John Boehner Immature Grand Standing, Energy Bill Passes In The House

Image
Despite this nutcase Trying to read this sign... And delay the process, the House just passed The Energy Bill to push it to the Senate. This will go under the radar amongst the rest of news with this bill and other stuff going on in the world of course, but still, this bill to some is like passing health care without a public option.
