Music Wakeup Call/The Summer Soul #1 For 7/22/10: T.I feat Keri Hilson- Got Your Back (2010)

This song has a great beat, even if it's the same generic "I need a down chick for me song." But the beat is too good to ignore, and at least it comes real from T.I. His new single for his upcoming "King Uncaged", it's "Got Ya Back." Still though, Keri Hilson has a very limited voice. And that is being very nice of course. (h/t The Boyd !!!)

Music Thread For 3/2/10: No Keri Hilson, It Was You And Not The Audio Who Messed Up

Image
She forgot the words to the National Anthem at the Hawks-Lakers game two nights ago, and has decided to blame that on the sound technicians : Experiencing one embarrassing moment when she forgot the lyrics to the national anthem in front of thousands, Keri Hilson blamed the mistake on bad audio. Taking it to her Twitter page, she reasoned, "LMAO bad sound can really distract U!! Well it happend 2 Aretha [Franklin] & the best of em!! EEK!!" Excuses, excuses, painful excuses.

Music Thread #2 for 10/27/08: The New Videos/Materials

New Videos as Always First, it is new stuff from Musiq feat Mary J.Blige, titled "If U Leave." Nice, ok, decent. That's what I will label this video. Next, it's another "I don't know if I want to Rihanna, or Beyonce', or whoever effort from the beautiful but limited Keri Hilson, as Timbaland tries to give help her again. Hell, this even sounds a little like Craig David's "What's your favor?" Finally, Kanye's new song "Robocop" got the leak. And it is worse than the butally bad "Love Lockdown." kanye...kanye...kanye... let 3000 be 3000 and you be you homey......damn Not very good signs at all for this album.

Music Thread #1 for 10/20/08- The New Videos (Another Chris Brown Duet Video; Alicia Keys Mediocre Bond Video; Could Trading Places Help Usher?)

First Music Thread Dedicated to new videos. And all are from prominent R&B artist. One is decent, one is ehhhhhhhhhh, and the last one is surprisingly good, and very necessary for that last artist and his struggling album. First, here's another Chris Brown duet with a chick. This time, It's Keri Hilson in the nice, if not cliche, "Superhuman." Then, not the best effort from Alicia Keys, as she teams up with Jack White to create the new Bond song for the new movie coming out. Sadly, it is just a total force. Her vocals sound so weird on this song, and it just fails in my view. Finally, Usher gets a much needed good video, thought it is the typical run of the mill R&B video. Here's "Trading Places." This video could help his massively disappointing album sales. Or maybe not. Another music thread, with news, will come later. For now, Peace!
