10/8/08- TWD's Agenda for the Day, Part 1: The Second Debate in Its Entirety
Thanks to C-SPAN as always for their brilliance. Updated: As you will see in this debate (or have already seen), McCain continues his reckless assault on earmarks, and in particular, slamming Obama for a $3 million earmark or a "projector." Once again, it was another terrible distortion given by McCain, giving off the tone that Obama gave off this money for a stupid cause. Thanks to the always diligent and terrific Deoliver47 at the Kos , here is the background on that "projector", and how important it is from the NY Times comments section: I am an Associate Professor of Astronomy at the University of Chicago (the University that today has added yet another Nobel Prize winner in the sciences for the US). I would like to comment on Sen. McCain's statement during the today's debate that Sen. Obama has earmarked "$3 million for an overhead projector at a planetarium in Chicago, Ill. Here's the reaction, and boy, not surprisingly, it is a one-sided disaster for McCain. Tom Brokaw has certified himself as a national disgrace. He was nasty and once again showed his preference to McCain. Brokaw though helped in how the debate format being an absolute joke , but it didn't help his buddy buddy. Obama stayed calm and delivered the quote of the night: "The Straight Talk Express lost a wheel on that one." From CNN, MoE 4%: Who did the best job in the debate?
