Music Thread #1 For 7/22/10 (1st Version): He's Not Looking Like A Boss At All.

Image
If you are a friend of this fool, you may not want to view this post. Bhahahaha, this clown is getting slapped around hard by even the family on the one who kind of owns that moniker: The Miami rapper should have gotten the okay from his family first, Carmine Agnello, 24, told the Daily News Tuesday. "My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname. That was my grandfather's life," Agnello said. John Gotti was dubbed the "Teflon Don" after winning acquittal after acquittal in the 1980s. He was finally convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992. "He should have asked for permission. A standup, respectable guy would come and ask 'If I could use the nickname,'" Agnello, who is trying to launch a music career under the name Carmine Gotti, said of Ross. "I think he's a great artist, but you can't just start calling yourself that to sell records ...He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself." And here...

Music Thread #2 for 6/2/09: A Long Overdue Video

From those long ago days of when Kanye's music wasn't superficial peculiar autotune crooning, one of the numerous gems off his classic first album, "The College Dropout", the song "Spaceship" featuring GLC and Consequence has been revived with its own music video. After four years, this song finally has a video (though I would prefer having one for "Family Business", but that won't be happening anytime soon unless I get into the game). Anyway, here's the video......

Music Thread #2 for 1/7/08: The Stunning Story Today Of Asher Roth Ending The Bomb Threat On A Plane Today

Photo from Chris Llewlyn via URB He's an upcoming MC getting a lot of attention. But Asher Roth may get even more attention away from his music. And rightfully so: In a story definitely making it rounds online and throughout, Roth and Chris Llewellyn helped stop a man on their plane traveling to Los Angeles after claiming he had a bomb. Stunningly stuff indeed.

Music Thread #1 for 12/8/08: The Runthrough, Including A Time When Ne-Yo Wasn't So Popular

Spit. Random quotes that still won't be enough to generate international news pandemonium came from Curtis Jackson's mouth today. As Shaheem Reid wrote today, 50 says Eminem is " Like his grandmother." The rest of the article is really not worth reading, through Em's new song "Number one" leaked on Friday (and for some, probably earlier.) So early, that it isn't even finished. The new 1.Here's struggling to get back to full relevance Britney Spears with "Cirus." Just why on Earth did her writers call it "Cirus?" No PR skills there. 2. HAHAHAHA, Busta Rhymes is catching some heat for his new song "Arab Money" which came out a few weeks ago. He certainly didn't mean it in that way did Busta, but nowadays, you got to look at an idea from all angles. By the way, talk about a rough year. Most forgot that he even put out an album in the summer. Andre 3000 and Cartoon Network are getting sued for "Class of 3000...

Music Thread #1 for 11/26/08: News and Analysis Overload

A much needed catchup on the music scene is needed for the site. Peace between T.I and Shawty Lo Looks far away from happening: Dirty Awards 2008 Battle Between T.I. and Shawty Lo from Gyant on Vimeo . Jay-Z and Coldplay continued their harmony with each other. Britain will be happy to see that especially. More reason why ANYBODY should want Chamillionaire to succeed. Seriously, the game needs more dudes like that. The mess that has become K-West on Conan O'Brien last night: But he, as you may have seen in this interview, and angry with the paparazzi. And something is being done about that. Actually, a good new video from Ne-Yo, this from his "Mad" song. Now, can he write a non-love related song. I'm just saying. Speaking of cliche', here's another Keri Hilson video that really does nothing. And it features another guest appearance from............you guess it? Weezieeee. More later, because we have a lot to catch up on here.

Music Thread #2 for 11/12/08: This Man Is So Inconsistent, It's ILLLLLLLL

Image
Photo from rap-up.com Truly hilarious, and really groundbreaking : Hip-Hop star Lil’ Wayne will take part in a historic night for the music business during The 42nd Annual Country Music Awards. The rapper will perform alongside Kid Rock during the Awards show, which takes place tonight (November 12) in Nashville, Tennessee. While African-American “Hick Hop” artist Cowboy Troy graced the CMA stage in 2004, Lil' Wayne is surely the first hardcore Hip-Hop artist to ever set foot on the Awards Shows’ stage. I am totally on his side with this one, I really am. And it is going to be funny to see the reaction of people in the crowd when this happens. You can call it the latest bizarre move from Dwayne Carter all you want, but this one is pure genius. I guess those Country Music Award folks didn't expect this to happen. Hell, they didn't expect to get Kid Rock either before he went to the country roots. Update: Apparently, he got my hopes up way too high, because he did little to n...
