The Flashback Fridays #1 For 12/18/15: OutKast - Ms. Jackson (2000)

Image
The first Flashback today is from the 4th album that further certified Andre and Big Boi status as music legends of current times. A second single hit was needed after the high energy fun but depressing title choice and sorta flop that was "B.O.B." And they got that in this smooth classic produced by them and Mr. DJ. There was no long term taint however with this one. "Ms. Jackson" really got Stankonia the crossover sales it needed to become the selling hit album it became as you know. So, first Flashback of the day, enjoy. More from The Whole Delivery, soon.

TWD Friday's The Flashback Fridays #1 For 12/13/13: Andre 3000/Outkast- Hey Ya (2003)

Image
Because "The Love Below" was his album and "Spearboxxx" was Big Boi's, well, I always call this song really just Andre 3000's song. Will be interesting how they do their comeback performances and all next year, but a decade later, these albums still are top class (Although "Spearboxxx" was the better album though). Anyway, here's Andre 3000's uptempo single classic from 10 years ago, "Hey Ya." More to come from TWD in a bit.

Music Midday Energy Boost For 2/14/11: Outkast- Roses (2003/2004)

Out of so many possible selections, this is the one that represents the 14th of February better than anything else. Hell, anything from Andre 3000's terrific "The Love Below" album from 8 years ago is well worth blasting today if you're in the mood. He made that album clearly for this day, although Big Boi being on this track leads me to actually use the proper attribution of it being a true "Outkast song." Anyway, here's your music energy boost for this Valentine's Day, it's Outkast with "Roses"

The Flashback Friday #1/The Summer Soul #1 For 7/30/10: Dungeon Family feat Coolbreeze- Watch For The Hook (1998)

Just another memorable song that needs to be elated in Hip Hop history. Your first Flashback Friday selection of the day, it's the Atlanta classic from The Dungeon Family and Coolbreeze, "Watch For The Hook."

TWD Song Of The Week For 7/3/10: Big Boi- General Patton (2010)

There is a reason why he is always a favorite here at TWD. He is just a true embodiment of the hip hop genre, and he always brings out the fire. Your Song of the Week choice, for this week, it's the underrated Big Boy with "General Patton." Pure goodness yet again from this individual.

TWD Saturday's Song of The Week For 3/20/10: Big Boi feat Too Short/George Clinton- "For Your Sorrows"

Your TWD Saturday choice for the week is from Big Boi, who serves another brilliant effort with Too Short and George Clinton "For Your Sorrows." And for some, viewer discretion is advised.

Music Am Wakeup Thread For 9/22/09: Dungeon Family- Trans DF Express (2002)

One of my favorite songs of all time, no question. When you put Outkast together with Goodie Mob and Organized Noize, it is a beautiful thing. Such is this song right here, ladies and gentlemen. Here is "Trans DF Express" from 2002, your wakeup call for the day:

Music AM Wakeup Call/TWD Flashback Fridays #1 For 9/4/09: OutKast - "Ghetto Musick"

Classic from 2003, through the video was made in 2004 for this song, and made this song good to great.
