The 1st Thread/Music Energy Boost For 12/10/12: Rick Ross ft. Smalley- Ten Jesus Pieces (2012)

Image
Just because I play this song doesn't mean I co-sign it. In fact, he probably didn't even write the lyrics to it. And I also bring this video up because he had to cancel the rest of his tour from basically sounding too hard when he just is not that . But enjoy this fake Rick Ross featuring Smalley with "Ten Jesus Pieces."

Music Wakeup Call For 9/7/11: Estrelle feat Rick Ross- Break My Heart (2011)

Could care less for the Fat Man, but he is what he is. Just glad to see Estrelle back to maybe being relevant:

The Album Sales Review For 8/11/10: Arcade Fire Burns Up To The Top

Image
The rockers top the charts : Both the Billboard 200 and the Digital Songs charts greet fresh No. 1s this week, as Arcade Fire's new album "The Suburbs" bows atop the former list with 156,000 sold It was another dreadful week for the RIAA Soundscan overall, but another massive week for Eminem. He is still selling no less than a 150 K a week, and looks sent to be double platinum in a little over 2 months time. Avenged Sevenfold, last week's #1, slipped to 3 while a nice welcoming for Bun B in the 4th spot despite weary numbers for his "Trill (41,000). The rest of the chart is Rick Ross' "Teflon Don" at #5 (not looking good to even go gold), #6 is Lady Gaga's "The Remix" (stop biting off of Diddy, #7 is the Bieber one's "My World 2.0", 8th place is Drake's "Thank Me Later" (oh its way to being platinum next week most likely), the 9 spot goes to Lady Antebellum's "Need You Know" and rounding o...

The Album Sales Review For 8/4/10: Avenged Sevenfold Finally Bumps Eminem Off The Top Spot

Image
And the Detroit rapper's massive 5-week hold on the top spot is over : Avenged Sevenfold garners its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart as "Nightmare" arrives atop the list, bumping Eminem's "Recovery" to No. 2 after a five week reign at No. 1. Avenged begins with 163,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan, trumping "Recovery" (159,000; down 15%) by less than 4,000 units. Sevenfold's personal accomplishment was the only standout in a forgettable week for the July 27 debut crowd: With only "Nightmare" arriving in the top 10, it's the first time we've had this few debuts in the top 10 since the chart dated March 13 (reflecting the sales week ending Feb. 28), when Johnny Cash's "American VI: Ain't No Grave" was the lone top 10 debut at No. 3. And you say "Bust" time for the former officer, who will have a fight to go gold on his hands: As for the rest of the top 10 this week, Rick Ross...

The Album Sales Review For 7/28/10: Eminem Tops The Charts For A 5th Straight Week As Rick Ross Flops Once More

Image
It looks like the Detroit legend will stay number one for another week incredibly, while disappointment and hard times are ahead for another flop CD from the former officer. Too funny : Eminem makes it five weeks in a row at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as "Recovery" sells another 187,000 (down just 4%), according to Nielsen SoundScan. Rick Ross' "Teflon Don" arrives in the runner-up spot with 176,000. Ross' last three studio albums all debuted at No. 1, with his last set, 2009's "Deeper Than Rap," arriving with 158,000. The opener for "Teflon" is Ross' best sales week since 2008's "Trilla" arrived with 198,000. Less than even "Trilla?" With all of those guest appearances on that virtual compilation album, this has to be devastating to the Rick Ross camp and those that hyped him endlessly, figuring that all of this ridiculous momentum would lead to a bigger fan base buying his poser crap. Instead, ...

Music Thread #1 For 7/22/10 (1st Version): He's Not Looking Like A Boss At All.

Image
If you are a friend of this fool, you may not want to view this post. Bhahahaha, this clown is getting slapped around hard by even the family on the one who kind of owns that moniker: The Miami rapper should have gotten the okay from his family first, Carmine Agnello, 24, told the Daily News Tuesday. "My grandfather paid his dues for that nickname. That was my grandfather's life," Agnello said. John Gotti was dubbed the "Teflon Don" after winning acquittal after acquittal in the 1980s. He was finally convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992. "He should have asked for permission. A standup, respectable guy would come and ask 'If I could use the nickname,'" Agnello, who is trying to launch a music career under the name Carmine Gotti, said of Ross. "I think he's a great artist, but you can't just start calling yourself that to sell records ...He wants to go for that whole image, but hey, be yourself." And here...

Music Thread #1 For 7/20/10: Teflon John Leads The Tuesday Album Dropping

Image
Arguably the most annoying person in music has his much hyped album of "drug boss" posing release today. It's Ross's third album, and with all the attention it is getting from everywhere, it had better not push less than 300K its first week. It sure would be hilarious if it wasn't able to though. Also dropping today is Sheryl Crow, back on the scene with "100 Miles From Memphis." In addition, out of nowhere, Chamillionaire is releasing another album. Talk about getting no hype, what a shame. I sure wasn't cognizant of him dropping "Venom." My how his appeal has fallen so fast. Those are the notables for this Tuesday, July 20th.

Music Wakeup Call For 6/3/10: The "All I Do Is Win" Crap Original Video

Image
I really didn't feel like naming the artists, showing how I frankly don't care for this horrendous, cliche video with a simple same background in a building that's just flatout pathetic. I mean, seriously, all you had to do for this damn video is have a concert shot similar to Kevin Rudoff's "Let it Rock" and work around that. Instead, you do this real lazy piece of crap video for probably an even higher price? Anyway, just turn away from the video and let the song play. It's "All I Do Is Win", your morning wakeup call for today. And this was also picked to highlight how worse the remix video is going to be .

Music Wakeup Call For 5/18/10: Dirty Money feat T.I And Rick Ross- Goodmornin (2010)

I really don't even the slightest bit of human waste for this song, but this is here to just move the day along. Awesome with it being new, that does help matters. Your morning wakeup call, "Dirty Money" with Mr.Harris, the former ex-cop in the aptly titled "Goodmorning."

Music Thread #1 for 6/24/09- The Rundown, Including Jay Sean Working With Lil Wayne

Photo from MTV News He's been waiting a long time to release this album, and now 50 cent is saying "Before I Self Destruct" is perfect . We'll see Another career down the drain? Maybe so rapper True Life Former Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam artist Tru Life turned himself in to authorities last night (June 23) to face a charge of 1st degree murder, according to reports. The charge is possibly tied to a brutal stabbing incident last week that left one man seriously injured, and an 18-year old teen dead. Drake co-signs Soulja boy, and I wholeheartedly agree “Soulja Boy is the smartest artist of our generation, I think period and I think out of anybody.Whoever it is, whether it’s him or his team or the people around him, whoever has the thoughts to do the things he does, is genius and I’m so happy for him.” Today's edition of "Failed music artists or figures becoming reality TV show people." Jay Sean has been getting a lot of buzz from all my Indian and Desi friends...

Music Thread for 5/25/09: TWD Condolences to Jay Bennett and Rapper Dolla

Image
Music Thread for today Ex-Wilco member Jay Bennett passed away today at age 45, in his sleep. TWD sends its condolences. Roderick Anthony Burton Jr. (Dolla) was buried today , on Memorial Day. He was only 21, and therefore younger than me. Chilling stuff. I'll have more on this story tomorrow, as The Whole Delivery also gives its condolences to his family in this tragic time for them. T.I. has his last concert at the Phillips Arena before he heads to jail tomorrow. "What I need y'all to do is pray for me while I'm gone," he said. "I'll see y'all in 366 days." It was Lauryn Hill's birthday today. Oh how I (and many many others) miss this Lauryn: This Smarty Jones guy apart of Hood News is a certified ass kisser after this one . Add the fake fat man, Rick Ross, baby mother to the list of delusional chicks trying to get money off a book deal. Kanye's book that he has been selling at his website will be sold in stores late next week. The w...

Music Thread for 9/30/08- Janet Spends Two Days In Hospital: DMX Spends Two Minutes in Court

Image
Photo by Scott Gripes of Getty Images, via VH1. The run through in the world of instrumental rhythm that we simply call, "music." At least it was only 2 minutes , the total duration of the time spent today in court by DMX. But someone at DX made a great point. Where are his fellow "Ruff Ryders?" You know its true when they say "you have no friends in this world" because I love DMX and he is one of the realest people in hip hop and it is sad what happened to him but where the f--- are his peoples??? I don't hear anything about Eve supporting him, no Swizz Beats, not even Jay-z coming to help this man out. Nobody showing up for his court dates or visiting him in jail. Its f----- up. I guess its true, you find out who is really with you when your locked up. MTV and Diddy will continue their annoying and warn out happy marriage by the network giving him another self-propaganda show . Let's see who will be the latest dumb sap (or saps) to get pimped ...
