No, They Are Monsters

Image
Wendell Potter, the former CIGNA employee turned moral whistleblower on our insane health insurance companies, was back on Countdown with Keith Olbermann last night to discuss the latest deleterious trick of his former industry to retain their inhumane profits. As reports indicate , those heartless robots at the top of our dysfunctional embarrassment for health providing in this country are looking at a way to stop offering child only plans as immediate parts of " Patient Protection And Affordable Care Act " come into effect on Thursday. Potter has been a wonderful blessing in the emotion driven fight for a true health system for the people over the last year and a half. But his restraint in not labeling his former colleagues in the field "monsters" and just saying their continued actions to deny children coverage is just "part of the system" exonerates them from their crimes. Sports Thursday Thread #2 For 6/3/10: Selig To Not Reverse The Call

Image
Utter failure is the commissioner Utter failure. Update: What Keith said : Hell, even Jason Donald admits he was out : "I was out," he said. "It helps that Jim Joyce came out and said that he missed it. I had a feeling I was out when it happened, but it just happened so fast. So I thought, 'Maybe I did beat it. I don't know.'" Bud Selig is already not liked by many people around the sports. He just made it a little worse for himself for no reason.

Something So Important About "Good Journalism"

I can't stress enough how important Keith Olbermann's words here about Campbell Brown's and CNN's continue sad exploitation of the "false equivalency" model. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy I cannot ameliorate Olbermann's words here. His description of the current crisis of journalism pervading through cable television right now is spot on. I would bet you a lot of money that Campbell Brown, Joe Klein, and the others over at CNN think that Bill Moyers was a partisan ultra liberal commentator instead of one of the few true class journalists remaining on television. It's the indolent thinking, the shoddy effort, at finding the whole truth that CNN has so sadly mired into fully. And it is the same position that frankly all of cable news television outside of Keith, Rachel, and Ed Schultz are currently in as well.

The 1st Thread For 4/1/10: TWD Birthday Shoutout To Rachel Maddow

Image
Inspired by the idea of the Twitter legend that is the Shoq one , it's an appropriate, deserved, and terrific birthday shout to one Rachel Maddow! Yeaaaaaaaaaah. Even if she is a criminal : It is her 37th birthday today. And it would be great to give her some love today if you can. She maybe an April Fools baby......but she is no fool for sure!

The Haiti Rescues Are Heart Wrenching

Wendell Potter Says It All

Image
Much attention from Countdown tonight has expectedly come from Keith's special comment expressing his disapproval with the sad bill that we have at the moment. But for me, despite how great that was to see from him as usual, even more of a steering indictment for how horrible this legislation is comes from the thoughts of one Wendell Potter. Potter, the former CIGNA executive figure, has been a crucial voice to listen to the whole entire year. He has lived the life of the health insurance companies that he fights now today, knowing the same people that he worked really can't stand him for exposing the aspersions and immoralities of his former colleagues. Potter explained to Olbermann how it is truly is "Pop Champagne week" (as I dub it) at the moment for Wellpoint, Aetna, Bluecross and his former employers. "Is it a bailout for the insurance industries?" "It certainly is, it contains everything the industry wants, and it's been stripped of things t...

But Remember........They Are Leftist Ideologues!

REMEMBER !!! .

Rachel Maddow Is The Scariest Person On TV

Liz Cheney says that Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, and Chris Matthews are scared to debate her. And suddenly, the "Liz Cheney Fan Club" has started online web ads to make it appear that Olbermann, Schultz, and Matthews are "TEH SCARED" of the "Puppet of the Year!" Just take a look : What makes this even more funny is this fact: Cheney never mentions that Rachel Maddow is scared to debate her. Even more utter hilarity is the other fact that Maddow and her producers have asked Cheney to appear on their show. But, there has been nothing but silence from her and her fan club on doing that interview. Surprise! Steve Benen adds his usual great two cents : To borrow a phrase, why doesn't Liz Cheney want to talk substance? Why doesn't she want to debate the issues? Because she is intimidated and frighted at being interviewed by the nicest, smartest person arguably in all of American news television. I guess being smart and nice is intimidating nowadays. E...

Keith Olbermann Touches The Soul With His Gripping Story Of His Father On Health Care

So real, so true, so deep, so poignant. It will touch you so much. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 "But no, he's just the left evrsion of Bill O'Reilly." Idiots.

8/12/09- TWD's Agenda For The Day: They Don't Know What They Are Fighting Against...... Continued

Just watch the beginning of Countdown last night, if time permits you of course: "Megaphones for lies that do not serve them." Ignorant to how they are the latest examples of Pawnism. Kenneth Gladney , that nut from yesterday with the gun , and many more just can't possibly comprehend right now that the things they are waging war against are the things that will benefit them if they lose this so called battle. A health care fight against improving your own health. Unbelievable. And speaking of those behind making those people into pawns, on TRMS last night, Lady Maddow continued her digging into the muck to find those doing their damnest to prevent meaningful health care reform. "Scooby sense." Nice.

8/8/09: TWD's Agenda For This Saturday: Nutcases

Whether a dummy like Michael Steele Or even worse...... It's wild thinking and eventually actions that will cause the innocent in this nation some great harm, if they already haven't. Obama's Weekly Message And since it's Saturday, bring in Luda!

Olbermann's Return. And Boy, Was It A Return.

He said it earlier Tonight I will present what I believe is the longest Special Comment I have ever aired, naming names and citing dollar amounts to call out the politicians -- Republicans and Democrats alike -- who are paid by the Health Care Monopolies to bring to life one of my favorite quotes, the observation of the Belgian essayist Maurice Maeterlinck: Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News , World News , and News about the Economy

The Sleep Time and Rise "n" Shine Thread For 6/1-2/09: Olbermann's Emotional Request For Those To Turn Off Fixed Propaganda

Another deep classic from Olbermann: All based on this time of talk: And yet, people like to lump this two together. They just don't understand who is truly on the side of what's right with journalism, and, with our American discourse. Until tomorrow, "May you bring a better you" as I try to bring a "better me."

1/17/08-TWD's Agenda For The Weekend, Saturday Edition: The Bush Legacy, Summed Up In One Video

"George Walker Bush, 43rd President of the United States, first ever, with a criminal record." Keith Olbermann serves up a memorable, devastating and sadly true account of the worst Presidency in the history of this country. There are still a majority of folks who don't understand that it goes just beyond Bush being a mental fool. It hits way deeper than that. It magnetizes how corrupt this man is, and how irresponsible and dangerous he and his gutless despicable cronies have been for this nation. Damning is it. And there sound be no celebration for it being true. Because it has had a horrible effect on all of us. It's Saturday, so bring in Luda:

The Sleep Time and Rise "n" Shine Thread for 11/10-11/08: Keith Olbermann Gets Emotional In His Defense Of Gay Marriage

Fresh off news of his new contract , the "Countdown" host gets so poignant that you can't help but feel it on tonight's (or last night's) special comment from him in the wake of a disastrous week for gay rights in America.

Photo from mediabistro.com Via eco d at the Kos , the NY Times Reports : Keith Olbermann, the anchor of “Countdown,” will remain at MSNBC through the next presidential election season, the cable news channel announced Monday afternoon. And.. Mr. Olbermann will continue to anchor “Countdown” and co-host NBC’s “Football Night in America.” Reinforcing Mr. Olbermann’s value to MSNBC, the network said he would “play a prominent role” in “all major news events.” Mr. Olbermann has anchored “Countdown,” the most popular program on MSNBC, since 2003.
