They don't even care about that thing they are always claiming nowadays that they care about. It starts with the word "D" and it rhymes with ignorant, which is a perfect description for all of these idiots. Mr Tang's Robin, the Cantor one : CANTOR : Well, what I said in the beginning is, if you have less revenues coming in to the federal government, and more expenditures, what does that add up to? Certainly you are going to dig the hole deeper, but you also have to understand if the priority is to get people back to work, is to start growing this economy again, you don’t want to make it more expensive for job creators.

Even though he has now issued a statement retracting his apology to BP, House GOP leaders John Boehner and Eric Cantor privately warned him that if he screws up again, he'll lose his slot as ranking Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, a senior GOP aide tells me. "This may not be the end of the story," the aide says, adding that if he starts making similar noises about BP, he's out. "Boehner and Cantor told him he came within a centimeter of losing his seat, and to strongly keep that in mind." I'm also told that Barton's retraction came after Boehner and Cantor exerted heavy pressure on him, and that there was wrangling over Barton's final statement -- another sign that GOP leaders knew just how lethal Barton's apology to BP was for the party.   Enough is enough. When I saw this tweet from Alan Colmes last night on a thought from Alan Grayson passed to him , it was one of only two resolutions I could see for this ugly situation to end appropriately: With how this shameful story has evolved , the only other thing that should be acceptible from Eric Cantor is to show penitence for his not shocking but, still, very shocking and disturbing actions. Nothing else. It's already deplorable enough that the Sad Obnoxious Party won't take (or are alarmingly slow) any responsibility for their tea partiers dropping coffins, throwing bricks, or leaving chilling phone calls in Democratic officers. But what Cantor (and Jean Schimdt, more on her in a second) did by trying to join his party in the "victim circle", and burden America with another false equivalency nonsense for the media to play with is too much to take. It is highly dangerous what Cantor and his press office are continuing to do by now changing...

He really shouldn't after this: That would be only true if we have a common sense society in America. Sadly, we don't: Eric Cantor, the second-ranking House Republican, claimed earlier today that his office had been the target of a politically motivated shooting. If you thought Cantor's claim seemed reminiscent of the the bogus "an Obama supporter carved a backwards 'B' into my face" story from the 2008 campaign, you were right. According to AP, the Richmond Police Department now says the bullet that hit an office in the building where he has a campaign office was fired randomly. Thankfully, the only thing that would be a great answer to Cantor shameful, despicable actions of making this another political carnival is for Cantor to resign. And one Alan Grayson is reportedly calling on him to do so.

Everybody in the rational online community doesn't need to be reminded of how awesome Anthony Weiner is. And the fact that he represents Brooklyn (though not my district, as Ed Towns represents it) is further admiration for the Congressman. Until further notice, he will remain one of the few public officials that I can confidently call "a public official" instead of a politician. In short, more people like Anthony Weiner would certainly be a benefit to our government, no question about that. But there comes a time when that usually terrific Congressional figure you respect and appreciate a lot is so wrong on an issue that you can't let favoritism block you from criticizing him or her.
