The Trophy For 6/6/10: Stupidity Reigns Again At MTV Music Awards

Just a lot of usual stupidness.....and a kiss that I thought would have everyone talking about, but based on Twitter, that really isn't the case (thanks to the Boondocks!) Watch the 2010 MTV Movie Awards at MTV.com!

Music Thread #1 For 1/4/10: The Runthrough

First music thread of the new year, and as always, it is a runthrough on Monday. This dropped on New Year's Day. Another black and white video from him. ANOTHER.................... ONE MTV, still sometimes acting as a music source, gives their album previews to look for in 2010 . They are doing better than their album at last for New Year's . Oh dear Bow Wow . And did I mention how Susan Boyle was the story of music last year ?

Image
TWD Condolences today goes to Ken Ober, who passed away today. He's well known for hosting the MTV Show Remote Control . You know, when MTV mattered: Only 52.......more to come at The Whole Delivery. Stay tuned.

The One Sentence Thread For 9/14/09: No, You Apologize First

Instead of asking Kanye West to apologize, maybe MTV (and Viacom) should apologize to all of us first, second, and third.

Music Thread #2 for 6/1/09: Not Much To Report Here

Image
Photo from MTV.com The story of the day in music is clearly how funny this incident was last night. And more people continue to believe (like myself) that Eminem wasn't in on this at all. If he wasn't, then maybe Nick Cannon was. I guest the start of music journalism has gotten to the point that what artists twitter on their pages is a main story. That's not a "sigh comment" or expressing disappointment with that, because there are a whole lot worse in music journalism. But it is what it is. New Fabolous video: Probably will be a big club hit for him, but the sells are another thing And Susan Doyle's fatigue story may go on for one more day. Hopefully.

Music Thread #1 for 6/1/09: Staged or Not, He Clearly Wasn't Happy

At the diminished MTV Awards last night, I ate my words. It wasn't diminished at all after this moment, though it's still not as crazy as it use to be. The important question is whether Eminem was angry or not? And that answer leaves me to actually believe, he was.

Music Thread #2 for 12/15/08- Couldn't Pick A Better Group of People To Literally Fall Out With The Cops

Image
Photo from MTV News I guess Pete Wentz and crew got a little too ambitious : The day before their Folie à Deux album arrives instores, Fall Out Boy had planned on staging an impromptu concert in New York's Washington Square Park. The only problem? They didn't bother to obtain a permit to do so, which drew the ire of New York's finest. So, while a crowd of hoodie-clad FOB fanatics — who had learned about the gig just the night before on Pete Wentz's blog — and a throng of rather confused onlookers milled about (not to mention Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta and Alex Suarez), the band and their management haggled with the NYPD about allowing the show to go on. In the end, they were told that picking up any instruments would earn them a complimentary trip to the slammer, so they did the next best thing: They led the audience in a sing-along. "This isn't looking good," Wentz told frontman Patrick Stump. "But let's try to do it anyway." But tha...

Music Thread #2 for 12/8/08- Still Makin' Money Off The Fallen I See

Image
Photo from mtv.com With a best friend like this, why would you even need to write something for him in your will if you tragically depart? He'll certainly find ways to get money in your name, to certainly honor you, right????????

Music Thread #1: Good Bye TRL (And Good Riddance)

Image
Photo from MTV.com Thank goodness that this show is now over. The big finale was on Sunday. Shareem reid, as usual, paints the happy narrative for his fellow co-workers . (and employer): Sure, the "TRL" finale was definitely live on Sunday night (November 16) — live, as in you saw exactly what happened, when it happened, and it was one helluva extravaganza — but it's not that type of party. More on this later.

Music Thread for 9/30/08- Janet Spends Two Days In Hospital: DMX Spends Two Minutes in Court

Image
Photo by Scott Gripes of Getty Images, via VH1. The run through in the world of instrumental rhythm that we simply call, "music." At least it was only 2 minutes , the total duration of the time spent today in court by DMX. But someone at DX made a great point. Where are his fellow "Ruff Ryders?" You know its true when they say "you have no friends in this world" because I love DMX and he is one of the realest people in hip hop and it is sad what happened to him but where the f--- are his peoples??? I don't hear anything about Eve supporting him, no Swizz Beats, not even Jay-z coming to help this man out. Nobody showing up for his court dates or visiting him in jail. Its f----- up. I guess its true, you find out who is really with you when your locked up. MTV and Diddy will continue their annoying and warn out happy marriage by the network giving him another self-propaganda show . Let's see who will be the latest dumb sap (or saps) to get pimped ...
