The Whole Delivery

I'm sort of in the middle to leaning "he does more to not annoy me" than he does "to annoy me" on Dylan Ratigan. Though he was nowhere to be found yelling about the perils of what the out of control trading on Wall Street when he was on CNBC the last few years, Ratigan has been nothing but a relentless critic on the "rich and powerful" almost every single day in his tenure as a highlighted MSNBC host. Some days has led to just awesome rants on the likes of Geithner, Rubin, or even tea bagging nutcases like Mark Williams and "The only nan who could hate Shirley Sherrod in this world," Mr. Breitbart. But Ratigan still pays this silly homage and respect to the Right and some conservatives daily, thinking that their perspective, if it comes from the honest heart, is just as commendable as the progressive wing in the Democratic Party. The importance of doing what Ratigan did of course deserves to be mentioned, but pure entertainment is the real reason for this post. Just to remind folks again, Mark Williams is the same guy that thinks our President is a " Indonesian Muslim Welfare Thug ." Him and Erik Erickson sure could pass off as pig twin D-bags, can't they?

David Dayen noticed just a short while ago how Dylan Ratigan is saying what needs to be said about Tim Geither's protection of AIG and those emails that they don't want disclosed. Maybe instead of asking Rahm Emmanuel what he thought about that sentence in that asinine book of our times right now, maybe Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie could have asked him about this. Would have given me a thought to give some hope for a show I will never have hope for. That certainly isn't the case however with Ratigan's though.

(Just a quick open thread that is really a regular post) The following interview, if you can hear it, is a reason why I can't jump on the Dylan Ratigan bandwagon like the terrific Glenn Greenwald does. Now as you will see, Ratigan is clearly on the right side of the issue in his interview with Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz here. He is exposing how the Democratic party (from Obama to some in the House) has clearly been the health insurance companies best friend thanks to the current Senate bill making them go so happy that their stocks have increased dramatically, a fact that everyone knows about. Unfortunately, Ratigan is so amped up, that instead of letting Wasserman Schultz finish her statements and then expose her lack of a definitive answer to his very good question, Ratigan becomes shout crazy and basically uncontrollable here. I have to admit, I thought the minute Dylan Ratigan was given a show on MSNBC after Morning Joe, I thought here comes another fully anti-progressive hour on that "liberal" network. Now, though Ratigan can still have that "CNBC business always" angle in him from time to time (okay, more regularly than sporadically), he has surprised me with how he has slammed Wall Street and the health insurance industry more times than I ever thought he would. And today he was on, to be very fair here, on fire: And then him slamming Orly Tatiz, who there will be more on later today: Even in his many sucky moments , I'll deal with him if he keeps on doing that.
