The New York Times has no problem marketing this book You have to love their continued persistence to great journalism integrity and not succumbing to shady advertising ruining their ethics. Especially in regards to promoting the book of one of the war criminals who certainly used their article to go into the illegal war that we need know of. What would Judith Miller think if they did?

Photo from NPR A nice tribute from the Associated Press: And here are a few great interviews from this beacon of journalism: Radio is what keeps me going. Him on CNN interviewing Boris Korczak, who was Valerie Plame before Valeria Plame: And the NPR has a great video last year, February 2009, when he was introduced to Twitter....awesome! God bless press to those who he departs from : Returning to the U.S., he married for the first time at the age of 50 to Lisbeth Bamberger. Besides his wife, of Washington, survivors include two children, Jonathan Schorr of Oakland, Calif., and Lisa Schorr of Boston; a brother, Alvin Schorr of Charlotte; and one granddaughter. Yesterday's Leftovers For 7/6/10: The Man Who Is Leading The Once Proud New York Times Down A Hell Hole

Image
As everyone was certainly more than distracted on their 4th of July weekend, taking a break from the intense 24/7 grind of wondering why our country can't enact just common sense policy for the good of the collective in this nation, we received yet another stunningly and sad reminder of how far our journalism has placed itself in a continuing abyss. It once again came at the hands of Bill Keller, the man responsible for turning the "Old Grey Lady" into the "Ov Vey Shady" with every chance his hack personality gets. And what he uttered this weekend was frankly, as Glenn Greenwald said this weekend , "one of the more demented and reprehensible statements I've seen from a high-level media executive in some time." I would say in all time . Bill Keller, the executive editor of The Times, said the newspaper had written so much about the issue of waterboarding that “ I think this Kennedy School study — by focusing on whether we have embraced the po...

Helen Thomas Is Retiring Immediately

Image
This 89 year old lady is a threat to our moral society of stupidity : The White House Correspondents Association is currently debating what to do about Helen Thomas in the wake of the explosion of outrage over her claim that Jews should "get the hell out of Palestine" and go back to Europe. The WHCA has not commented publicly on her remarks, but in an email circulated late last night, CNN's Ed Henry, who's also the secretary of the WHCA, described them as "shocking and indefensible." That makes it unlikely that she'll be allowed to hold her plum seat in the White House press room. which, unsurprisingly, was empty today: What a surprise, Ed Henry the head of these insider steno-graphing gossip wannabes. What a brave stand Henry is taking, such great journalistic courageousness here. Standing up to the threat of DC journalism that Thomas is to there high moral society of stupidity. Yes, whether you believe her statements or not, Thomas knows tha...

Something So Important About "Good Journalism"

I can't stress enough how important Keith Olbermann's words here about Campbell Brown's and CNN's continue sad exploitation of the "false equivalency" model. Visit msnbc.com for breaking news , world news , and news about the economy I cannot ameliorate Olbermann's words here. His description of the current crisis of journalism pervading through cable television right now is spot on. I would bet you a lot of money that Campbell Brown, Joe Klein, and the others over at CNN think that Bill Moyers was a partisan ultra liberal commentator instead of one of the few true class journalists remaining on television. It's the indolent thinking, the shoddy effort, at finding the whole truth that CNN has so sadly mired into fully. And it is the same position that frankly all of cable news television outside of Keith, Rachel, and Ed Schultz are currently in as well.

Another Hell Hole Moment For Journalism In America

Brought to you by the New York Times . Mr. Black : Either the NYT just ran with oppo research they were fed without bothering to check, or they did their own snipitty snip snipping . Given recent history, I imagine they'll address the issue in 10 years or so. We'll be lucky for it to be even a decade if they do so. A lot of people, from myself and especially the likes of Tweety bird, the usually terrific Bill Press, Ron "Cheney Uncle Tom Laptog" Christie and a hell of a lot of others deserve to give a major apologize to Blumenthal. But that should all start with the Judy Miller rag. But I think their arrogance from the ACORN era will prevent them from doing so for another while. Journalism rolls in its grave yet again for another day in America.

The Glorious End To A Glorious Era

Image
And a throwback from yesteryear and thensome. The interview highlights from over the course of time (though the most recent ones may dominate the majority of them in this deserving thread for him). And this video for last week, his closing commentary on the American Dream, which was touching. The final episode of Bill Moyers Journal, with Bill Moyers, airs tonight on your local PBS station at its regular time. It's a 90 minute finale, taking place in the heartland, a journey to the state of Iowa. But even if this esteemed individual signs off on TV for good, you can sign on of him at his Twitter page . And you never know, for you could sign on with him in person somewhere, at someplace, at sometime.
