TWD Condolences For 1/9/14: A New Jersian Poet Goes "Home"

Image
Major rest in heaven for the wonderful poet and underrated activist that is Amiri Baraka, who has passed today at age 79 . Here is some of his best work and notable TV appearances down below. It is a real shame that he went so quite to the general popular for so many years. And look at the interview he did with Connie Chung where he was on to talk about his controversial poem on 9/11: And how he wished the US "was a Communist country." More to come at TWD, with blessings to the Baraka family for sure and thensome.

Music Wakeup Call For 5/27/10: Trey Songz - Yo Side Of The Bed (2010)

Good delivery for Trey and Keri to remember the troops, even if it had nothing to do with the song.

The Sleep Time and Rise "n" Shine Thread For 3/24-25/10: Earthquake in Manilla

Image
Late 1:50 AM : There has been a 6.1 earthquake in The Philippines , will keep you updated on that in the morning. Updated 2 : As you probably heard by now, no signs of damage or causalities has been reported. Relief. Marijuana is now on the ballot in California for November. Oh man . Haha, The Orangeman said that a tax on tanning discriminates against white people . What a loser. On a serious note, here is an IGTNT memorial for this thread, as we remember the lives of Sgt. Joel D. Clarkson, Chief Petty Officer Adam Brown, and Spc. Robert M. Rieckhoff . God bless to their families and for just being brave and loving the nation. To Tevin.......God bless to you, and see you on the flip:

The Sleep Time And Rise "n" Shine Thread For 8/30-31/09: IGTNT And The Miscellaneous

Image
First, celebrating the lives lost at war from an American perspective, with a global conscious. IGTNT tonight by roses , remembering the lives of Pfc. Matthew E. Wildes of Hammond, Louisiana, and Staff Sgt. Kurt R. Curtiss of Murray, Utah, who were killed in Afghanistan. As always, heart felt and real. Deep stuff from this mother of a slained son. Good on the Bahamas for this. . A breathalyzer test helps find lung cancer. Not a bad invention at all. I don't agree with this Microsoft guy all the way. Some points he makes are definitely true, but live big screen TV, if avaliable, will always beat live PC-TV, especially if the picture from the PC is grainy like most PC's can give you with a live stream. Just in case you still don't believe that your employer is looking at your social media pages. For some, this will not be a shock at all. But for others, the United States is not 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even in the Top 10 in broadband speed in the world. It is 28th . And finally, to...

Anyway, IGTNT, celebrating the lives tonight of 1st Sgt. Jose "Joe" Crisostomo, Pfc. Brian Wolverton and Spc. Justin Pellerin. Your commentator tonight over at the Kos....... JeNoCo. Condolences and Salutations are in store for the family of Matthew R. A Daily Kos Shoutout: Memorial Day is Everyday For The IGTNT Writers

Image
Memorial Day is everyday for the IGTNT writers. Their tireless diligence, wonderful writing, and most importantly, their loving hearts are a true representation of the human soul at its highest caliber. From the moment a user by the name of I dunno started it over five years ago, "I Got The News Today" has grown and received the recognition it deserves, not only here at Daily Kos, but throughout the blogosphere. They don't only stop to pay tribute only on this day. They don't stop and pay tribute only do it when violence escalates and coverage of the wars pick up. They do this everyday (or whenever they can). This wonderful recommended diary from rb137 over a fortnight ago gets into full detail of IGTNT for those who need to know more. Your local newspapers sometimes don't go into detail about fallen soldiers the way these writers do. And do we need to ask about our cable media, who don't even have segments anymore showing the names of the departed across ...
