Former Chelsea teammates status for the World Cup has appeared to improve from Saturday big time (Photos from Getty Images and AFP) Well what do you know, both Arjen Robben and Didier Drogba could not only be available for this World Cup, but they could even play in the opening games of the tournament! First, on the Bundesliga player of the year's situation : Arjen Robben has confirmed he has a small tear in his left hamstring but is hoping intense physiotherapy will help him take part in the FIFA World Cup™. The Netherlands star came on as a half-time substitute in Saturday's 6-1 thrashing of Hungary and scored two goals before being forced off five minutes from time. The initial diagnosis was gloomy but Robben is hoping he can still play a key role in South Africa. Especially if you play or did play for Chelsea : A stunning second-half fightback saw the Netherlands run out comfortable 6-1 winners over Hungary in their final 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ warm-up at the Amsterdam ArenA. The victory came at a cost with Arjen Robben forced from the action with a left hamstring injury, leaving Bert van Marwijk to hope the injury jinx that has struck so many of his big-name players this week will not include the Bayern Munich winger. Robben is due to undergo a scan tomorrow, and the Oranje coach was downbeat about the situation after the match. "I would rather lose this match and have Arjen stay fit," said Van Marwijk. "He felt a sharp pain. That does not bode well. But I do not lose hope."
