Weird lady with the flag More tomorrow on  The Postscript coverage, but really folks, I want to thank you all for just watching and looking at this site during a special election season, as it always is when it comes to this weird, sometimes wonderful, sometimes woeful, American democracy.  It has been another eye opening journey on the road to the voting polls, and hoped someone was facilitated by this page. So until next time, from The Whole Delivery, I am Andrew Jones. So long and congratulations to all of the winners this evening from all parties and non-parties across the board. And most importantly, congratulations to all of you for voting and giving a major slap to the face to many narratives thinking the voting fervor would not be as high as four years ago.  

Always at the heart of The Very Serious, centrist media's ultimate desperation to make this election be a neck and neck horse race is one Mo(u)rning Jo(k)e. Now this segment, featuring the usual, great, centrist,  Very Serious disgrace Jon Meachem of course, was so desperate to still paint Ohio as a see-saw contest that instead of the "Likely Voters" model ( which shows Obama up  decently in Ohio), and the Registered Voter model (which will always show any "swing state" with an edge to Obama), they chose instead to use something I have never seen used before on TV. Since they are so angry that their horse-race election in Ohio and the country is in danger thanks to that "evil liberal concept" that is early voting and that the Obama administration & campaign team is excellent at registering voters while others are preventing shameful voter suppression efforts, Morning Joe tells the ...

Shame that it took so long to figure out, but glad it is starting to catch on : Call them "the Obama tax cuts for the middle class." Top Democratic leaders in the House are discussing using that phrase to rebrand President Obama's proposed extension of the Bush tax cuts for those making less than $250,000, senior leadership aides tell me. The use of the phrase has the informal support of Nancy Pelosi and Majority Whip James Clyburn, and Pelosi has used the phrase in private meetings, leadership aides tell me. Rank and file House Dems are privately discussing the phrase. Top Senate aides also like the idea. Now Duncan Black has been asking that question on why they haven't down this obvious good idea for a while, but it probably only hit them when a staffer or someone saw this from the Ny Times . Hard to see them ever thank a prominent blogger for creating a key political strategy.

This morning, Straight jacket All-star lady : Sharron Angle tries to introduce the mosque issue into the Nevada Senate race, sending out this statement: "Our forefathers made it very clear in the U.S. Constitution that people of all faiths have the right to practice their religion here in America. As with all religions, Muslims have the right to worship in New York or Nevada or any state in our nation. However, by supporting the construction of a mosque at Ground Zero, President Obama has once again ignored the wishes of the American people, this time at the expense of victims of 9/11 and their families. They have said overwhelmingly that the location of this mosque is an affront to the memories of their loved ones who were murdered by Islamic extremists on 9/11. Their wishes should be respected. As the Majority Leader, Harry Reid is usually President Obama's mouthpiece in the U.S. Senate, and yet he remains silent on this issue. Reid has a responsibility to stand up and...

This is refreshing to see, because it is one of the only ways we seriously can get our of the deficit instead of the insane constant conservative attacks on social security, Medicare, and even education now : House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) hinted in a speech Tuesday that House Democrats do not consider family incomes of $250,000 an inviolable threshold, despite Obama’s pledge. He said at the event sponsored by the Third Way think tank that “at a minimum,”the House would not extend the tax cuts to taxpayers above $250,000. Hoyer argued that higher taxes would be necessary to address the $1.5 trillion federal deficit and downplayed threats that such action would hamstring the economic recovery. He noted that tax increases in the early 1990s raised government revenues from 17 percent to 21 percent of gross domestic product and ushered in a decade of prosperity. “Raising revenue is part of the deficit solution, too,” he said, adding that Congress must also cut spending....

The War Is Making You Poor Act : Next week, there is going to be a "debate" in Congress on yet another war funding bill. The bill is supposed to pass without debate, so no one will notice. What George Orwell wrote about in "1984" has come true. What Eisenhower warned us about concerning the "military-industrial complex" has come true. War is a permanent feature of our societal landscape, so much so that no one notices it anymore. But we’re going to change this. Today, we’re introducing a bill called ‘The War Is Making You Poor Act’. The purpose of this bill is to connect the dots, and to show people in a real and concrete way the cost of these endless wars. With the momentum of the Obama Administration finally deciding to use recess appointments for the likes of Craig Becker being felt , Nancy Pelosi indicates that should be the commencement and not the conclusion of the Democrats staying on the gas pedal. From The Hill reporter Ian Swanson, the Speaker of the House urges her colleagues in the House to stay active as Easter break approaches: Members returning to their districts should tout the new healthcare law’s benefits to their constituents, according to the “recess packet” issued by Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) office this week and obtained by The Hill. Members should “convey the immediate benefits of health reform to your constituents (such as better prescription drug benefits for seniors, tax credits for small businesses and prohibiting insurance companies from canceling your policy if you get sick),” the memo said. The quietest revival ever may not be too quiet soon, as 5 other senators have joined the "Public Option Push" movement. It is a pleasant surprise . Barbara Boxer, Barbara Mikulski, Frank Lautenberg (Pharma supporter now), Amy Klobuchar, Ben Cardin, Jack reed, and Tom Udall have made the number of Democratic Senators 16 to sign onto the public option pledge. I guess all those saying "pass the Senate bill now" are holding off on that thought.

Pat Kennedy, the son of the late Ted Kennedy and last Kennedy in Congress, has decided to not seek re-election for his seat in the House. Here is the video that he and his staff made: This is the 14 House Democratic figure to not seek re-election, while there are 18 Republicans in the second chamber of Congress who will do the same.
