Summit Bowl! (Part 1): Alexander Lies; McCain Makes A Fool Of Himself, Again; Slaughter With A Chilling Story
Now enter the Summit bowl.
And everyone should know what this summit is all about. It's all about Republicans looking stupid and having no good ideas at all.
Enjoy, as the snark will be prevalent:
Anthony Weiner, not invited, makes a terrific point as he LIVE blogs about it at the Kos.
Well, the public option did get mentioned in that first three hour period, as Steny Hoyer of all people brought it up as discussion.
The main highlight for me that exemplifies this entire process was at the beginning, as Lamar Alexander lied about the CBO report about premiums. As President Obama gladly corrected him (and pissed off Alexander of course in the process), premiums go down even in the much maligned Senate bill.
However, you know all the cable channels will obsessively talk about this, although it is a great television moment:
But the quote of the day that needs to get as much as it deserves is Louise Slaughter's chilling account of a women who couldn't afford dentures. "She wore her dead sister's teeth."
Chilling.

Some things to watch out for this morning at the health care summit:
Will anyone actually explain the status of the public option?
We know the President supports it. We know that the Democrats at the table overwhelmingly support it. We know that the American people support it. And we know that the House of Representatives already voted for it.
So what's the problem?
At least in the game of Clue we find out who did the crime at the end. Before we write the obituary on the public option, I hope somebody explains.
