The Rationalist Of The Week......Danny Glover

Image
It was a hard decision to make , but I was swayed into choosing Danny Glover over Alan Grayson and Bernie Sanders as the inaugural winner for the Rationalist of the Week Award. While these esteemed public officials show why they are amongst the few political figures you can trust in Washington, that is what these gentlemen are suppose to do. And it's behavior that you expect from the likes of Sanders and Grayson. However, what Danny Glover has done for the American worker just has not received the attention it has deserved. Glover's altruism at fighting Hugh Boss for potentially outsourcing their jobs away from Cleveland to Eastern Europe is a testament of a celebrity using his fame for good when he surely didn't have to. Let's hope Glover's fight, along with the SEIU, for those Cleveland workers given a letter of losing their jobs in April by Hugo Boss is successful. It is a stance that needed to be taken. And it is made all the more visible thanks to Glov...

Who Is TWD's Rationalist Of The Week?

Image
These two public officials for the people are up for the first Rationalist Award Of The Week Since The Whole Delivery presents a "Rationalist of the Year" award at the end of every year, I thought that it was necessary to have a weekly version of that award. And here it is. Recognizing the political figure or news maker who's actions throughout the week deserve full approbation for advocating or creating a positive effect for people, The Rationalist Of The Week is something that will become a regular staple of TWD Weekend. And the battle for this first award will be between Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, Florida Rep. Alan Grayson, and a special nominee in actor Danny Glover . Will the award go to Grayson thanks to him introducing a public option with his four page bill . Is it Bernie Sanders announcing that he may possibly bringing out an amendment for the public option . “I think somebody should do that, and I’d certainly be prepared to do that,” Sanders ...

Good For Danny Glover

Image
In fact, "good" is an understatement for what he has done here . With the Oscars taking place this weekend, actor Danny Glover has sent a letter to the nominees and presenters urging them not to wear Hugo Boss. The reason behind Glover's boycott is due to Hugo Boss shutting down their Cleveland based plant at the end of April, which will result in 400 people losing their jobs. His letter explains: "The workers are productive and the plant is profitable, but Hugo Boss has decided it can make even more profit by moving the production to Turkey or Eastern Europe. Hugo Boss says it wants to expand business in this country, and the brand depends on Hollywood cachet. Please tell the world you won't be wearing Hugo Boss on March 7." Here is the letter from Glover . It is a wonderful moment when those living the life in America actually care about the downtrodden middle class in America.
