In the continued Flashback Friday tribute to Malik Taylor, here is Sir Phife Dawg leading off superbly with the timeless group classic "Scenario", which on another day would be a full recognition of how the Leaders of the New School, in particular Busta Rhymes, emerged as real forces to watch for. With the passing of one Malik Taylor, it's only necessary that this week's Flashback Friday include a few "A Tribe Called Quest" classics that he specifically got his lyrical shine in. Unfortunate thing in all of this is how Phife Dawg never was given his chance to deliver a well-hyped solo album. Part of it had to do with just the in-demand market for it, but as he so eloquently alluded to in an interview on Highly Questionable in 2014, the less glamorized members of Wu-Tang got their album shine, so why couldn't he? Eventually he was able to release a solo album, but any notable demand for it had long past the minute it (Ventilation: DA LP) dropped in 2000. No assistance from Q nor Ali went into it, and it is an album that even most of these "#RIPPhifeDawg" tribute people probably have never even bothered to listen to or know about. One of the most underrated great videos of the 90's, your second Flashback Friday video for this week, it's the legendary A Tribe Called Quest with their one of many classics in "Find A Way." And T.I definitely used Q Tip's opening in the second verse (if you noticed it) to spur his single " Why You Wanna ?"
