ACORN Will Disband

Image
Photo from Getty Images' Mark Wilson Sadly, there has been one area where the Brebitbartapalypse did fall and caused a stupefying impact. Just a few days after announcing that they would file for Chapter 7, ACORN will disband as of April 1 , as only the separate ACORN housing will remain . And it's fitting that it closes for good on that day, as the foolish nutty actions of Fake Pimp telephone operator and his further demented Red Eye master has led to that. Not only they, however, are accountable for ACORN's rapid downfall into oblivion, as the New York Times and the rest of the media know the roles that contributed in this happening. So the downtrodden once again take the hit in America thanks to the rabid elite. If only they had re-named their organization Xe or KBR, they wouldn't have had to suffer like they have under the life and times of Bishop Tragic Don Operator Fail, his pathetic prostitute accomplice, and a poor man's Drudge.

Yesterday's Leftovers For 3/21/10: Well That Took Forever.....And It Wasn't Even That Good.

Image
Today, despite being vindicated time and time again over the last few months, ACORN continues to spiral towards bankruptcy. The New York Times spilled the details of how a conference call led by the organization's CEO Bertha Lewis will talk about filing for Chapter 7 (unless it has already happened already). And barring a miraculous influx of ostentation coming in, the nutty Right will have officially scored a win at the expense of the poor of the nation (if they haven't already with how publicly ridiculed the organization has received). But the most revealing thing about that report today was not the fact of ACORN's impending bankruptcy. Rather, it was the fact that it came from the New York Times. Why is that a salient characteristic? Because this is the same newspaper that won't admit publicly that it facilitated in ACORN becoming poor in the midst of fighting for......the really poor. As Media Matters has documented as astutely as they always do, the New Yo...

His Defense Of His Lackey Is Touching

Image
It truly is Wait until the facts are in. Mainstream Media, ACORN, Media Matters (all the supposed defenders of due process and journalistic ethics) are jumping to conclusions over the arrest today of James O'Keefe, with the clear intention to smear and, if possible, convict O'Keefe and his alleged co-conspirators in the court of public opinion in order to taint the "jury of their peers." [...] Let me state clearly for the record: wiretapping is wrong. But until I hear the full story from James O'Keefe, I will not speculate as to what he was doing in Louisiana. May the comedy keep on coming.

Tisk, Tisk, Tisk, Tisk, Tisk

Image
Now he will truly understand how it is hard out here for a pimp The FBI, alleging a plot to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office in downtown New Orleans, arrested four people Monday, including James O'Keefe, a conservative filmmaker whose undercover videos at ACORN field offices severely damaged the the advocacy group's credibility. FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O'Keefe aided and abbetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office's telephone system. A witness from Landrieu's staff said O'Keefe was present in the office and claimed to be "waiting for someone to arrive." I can't wait for Hannity and Breitbart to say "ACORN now owns the FBI!" Update: Breitbart is on a level of feeling devastated like no other right now "I need to find information on this. I'm out of the loop on this. I will make my ...

OOPS...........ACORN Funding Looks To Be Restored

Image
There must be a special reason for me to ever link to Politico. This is one of those special reasons : A judge in New York ordered that ACORN’s federal funding be restored, rolling back a slew of Congressional actions that sought to stop taxpayer money from flowing to the community group on the heels of a fall full of embarrassments for it. But so you don't have to read the entire thing from there, try here Today, U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon granted a preliminary injunction against the United States for unconstitutionally withholding funds from ACORN. In its decision, the court found that there is a likelihood the plaintiffs will be able to show that Congress’ targeted defunding of ACORN violates the Constitution’s prohibition against Bills of Attainder , legislative acts which single out a specific person or group for punishment. The Court’s ruling stated, “The plaintiffs have raised a fundamental issue of separation of powers. They have been singled out by Congress for puni...

OOPS......I Don't Think They Meant To Say What They Said

Image
Yeah, I don't expect this to be reported on the Chyron troubled propaganda network anytime soon. Because it certainly would be too painful to bear . An independent report examining the undercover videos filmed in offices of the national anti-poverty group ACORN states the employees portrayed in the videos did not engage in any illegal activity. The report by former Massachusetts Attorney General Scott Harshbarger calls for the organization to take nine steps to strengthen its management and oversight structures as part of a "roadmap for reform and renewal" in order to regain public trust shaken by the video controversy. "The report is part vindication, part constructive criticism and 100% roadmap to the future," ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis said. The news is oh so devastating that it lead to Big Government, the ones who have manufactured the rise of "ACORN is a moral evil" sentiment with these videos from the clown wannabe pimp and his prostitute, to conced...

MSNBC, Your Liberal Network

So liberal that they let Ratigan not challenge a nutcase right-winger from ridiculously linking the White House to ACORN . Your liberal cable station, MSNBC, yet again providing its great liberal bias to all!

At Least Steve King Is Consistent With His Craziness

Image
He certainly must watch Glenn Beck when he gets home at nights. I caught up with Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) at the How to Take Back America Conference to follow up on an issue that had come up there: “defunding the Left.” After ACORN, what was the next natural target for Republicans? King said it would be the Service Employees International Union. “When you think what happened to Communists after the wall fell down in ‘89,” said King, “they didn’t just curl up and decide to become capitalists. They would go back and reform like — Oh, it’s like trying to squash an amoeba.” People don't believe me, but I think that King can easily challenge Michele Bachmann as the craziest figure in the House of Representatives. His track record in the last few weeks has been nothing short of startling.

Their Newest Mascot

You just can't even call them heroes anymore , because they are just so stupid : Doesn't know his laws he says. The right's mascots that they champion ladies and gentlemen.

The One Sentence Thread For 9/28/09: Our Media

Pretty sad that Rachel Maddow is the only person on cable news outlet pushing back on the conservative talking points about ACORN.

Leak, Leak, Leak, Leak, Leak

Image
But will the plumbers (corporate media) even damn notice (as it is easily too late by now since funding has been stripped ) the continued leaks ? On the heels of ACORN filing a lawsuit against conservative activists Hannah Giles, James O'Keefe, and Breitbart.com LLC, Sean Hannity, Andrew Breitbart, HotAir.com's Allahpundit, and NewsBusters have offered to -- in the words of Hannity -- "put out the word" to "help" Giles and O'Keefe raise money for their legal defense. Conservative media figures -- led by Glenn Beck -- helped Breitbart strategically release and aggressively promote the undercover videos that sparked ACORN's lawsuit. Or will they even damn care is the better question? Because they sure as hell know. But unsurprisingly, they seem not to be bothered . The drips continue. Meanwhile, O'Keefe and his accomplice join the ranks of right-wing heroes. Boy, I bet they are certainly proud with themselves.

Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip, Drip

Image
Shocking, isn't it On September 23, Los Angeles Times media critic James Rainey reported that ACORN official Lavelle Stewart "told me this week" that when conservative videographers James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles came to Stewart's ACORN office in Los Angeles disguised as a pimp and prostitute, Stewart "tried to get the 'prostitute,' who claimed she had been beaten by her pimp, to go to a women's center." Stewart's reported statement and a police report filed by officials at ACORN's Philadelphia office undermine O'Keefe's and Giles' claims that they were never rebuffed at any of the ACORN offices they visited, and the videographers have yet to release the Los Angeles and Philadelphia videos. Leak, leak, leak, leak, leak. I wish Fixed would report this leaking and all.

The One Sentence Thread For 9/24/09: Maybe The Only Way

Maybe there needs to be a pimp and prostitute to go to both Blackwater and KBR/Halliburton's offices in order for Congress to defund them.

Census Worker Murdered On 9/12......But Let's Focus On ACORN Some More!

Image
Waiting on Fixed Propaganda to cover this . The FBI is investigating the hanging death of a U.S. Census worker near a Kentucky cemetery, and a law enforcement official told The Associated Press the word 'fed" was scrawled on the dead man's chest. The body of Bill Sparkman, a 51-year-old part-time Census field worker and occasional teacher, was found Sept. 12 in a remote patch of the Daniel Boone National Forest in rural southeast Kentucky. The Census has suspended door-to-door interviews in rural Clay County, where the body was found, pending the outcome of the investigation. Investigators are still trying to determine whether the death was a killing or a suicide, and if a killing, whether the motive was related to his government job or to anti-government sentiment. Yeah, like a census bureau worker would hang himself and write FED on his chest. Yeah. But that's okay, because the more important news is this, even if it will lead to nothing! ACORN has been contacted by...

It's Okay If It's Blackwater or KBR/Halliburton

Image
But ACORN though......get the crosses out!!!!! Yeah, it's okay if you are illegal gutless whores instead of a (formerly) underfunded organization to still get funding and all from the government. Especially if Republicans are in charge. Last week's decision by Congress to to bar federal funding to ACORN was notable not only for the lopsided vote margins ( 83-7 in the Senate , 345-75 in the House ) but also because it revealed a rarely-seen zeal in Congress for holding federal contractors accountable. As my colleague Sue Sturgis reported last Friday, 23 of the very same House members who voted to strip ACORN of funding had opposed a measure to investigate scandal-plagued military contractor Blackwater , who had been implicated in killing 17 Iraqi civilians. But the House isn't alone. Many of the same Senators who voted to de-fund ACORN have also opposed Congressional efforts to tighten rules and hold federal contractors accountable. Case in point: In 2006, Sen. Byron Dorgan ...

9/19/09: TWD's Agenda For This Saturday: The Continued Defense Of ACORN Continues

And it is growing . And check this realness from this cool individual that I know as BooMan23 , because his story is quite fascinating about his ACORN experience. But hey, if you watch the comedian network, ACORN is so damn scary and bad. Because it is Saturday, here is Luda: Saturday (Oooh! Ooooh!) - Ludacris

The Poignant For 9/17/09: The Poor Is Getting Attacked Again in America

Image
Another assailment on American's poor is transpiring in front of our eyes. And most of us, including myself until now, didn't realize this. There were a myriad of great things in Glenn Greenwald piece highlighted by the important shoutout by dissonantdissident , but this one though still showed restrain in fully defending a defenseless organization: As for ACORN, nobody is apologizing for them or suggesting that they've done nothing wrong. Like those few idiots, who were fired to again remind you, that got caught speak for all of ACORN? Those people did wrong, not the whole organization and its leaders . And that is a mindset that must be eviscerated from this if you ACORN is to be backed against the incongruous and bullying attack being placed on it. Just look at all of these SOP governor nuts fanning the flames on them with these investigations or cutting funding to them: That governor actor guy who destroyed California's economy is demanding one , new successionist...

The Epilogue For 9/16/09: Someone Defend Them Please

Image
Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News , World News , and News about the Economy Were those employees from ACORN stupid? Yes. Did they embarrass their organization? No question. Should they be subjected to the latest nutcase right-wing fringe witch hunt? Hell no. And it is a shame that they have been victimized but undefended by anyone in the rational online community who know a few bad seeds don't speak for all. I am so glad that Ed Schultz even gave an interview to ACORN's CEO, Bertha Lewis, even though he was asking questions from a conservative talking point perspective like he was on Fixed Propaganda himself. Lewis didn't deserve a question based off of Richard Shelby, because it doesn't take a full time political insider to know where a nut like Shelby stands on this. The Alabama Senator, just like this other idiots calling for a few scale investigation from the DOJ on ACORN, want to bury this organization and emboldened their Propaganda Comedian channel and radical ag...

Caving To The Idiots: Acorn To Receive No More Government Money

Image
Glenn Beck wins again ACORN on Monday said it is "disappointed" after the U.S. Senate voted to add an amendment to the 2010 Transportation Appropriations Bill that will end taxpayer funding for the controversial organization. The bill passed with an overwhelming majority, in an 83 to 7 vote. The only Senators who voted in favor of supporting ACORN with taxpayer money were: Dick Durbin (D-IL), Roland Burris (D-IL), Robert Casey (D-PA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Patrick Leahy (D-NY), Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI). ACORN has faced a lot of criticism over the past few weeks after undercover movies were released, showing ACORN staff advising on how to commit fraud. Staff members, at various locations, also advised on how to deploy underage girls, as young 13, as prostitutes. "We're disappointed that the Senate took the rare and politically convenient step of supporting eliminating some federal funding for a single organization, one that has been th...
