Still one of the more underrated, deep songs in the last few years. With Miri Ben Ari in the strings, a rare second Sunday Soulful selection is the vastly overlooked Deemi with "Soundtrack of My Life. Deemi - Soundtrack Of My Life by joel18 And with that, it's a Sleep Time thread, so, goodnight.....Tevin!

Music Wakeup Call For 4/21/10: Deemi- Soundtrack Of My Life (2007)

A return to the music wakeup call of one of the best music songs from three years ago, from another great underrated artist damaged by a stupid industry. It's the wonderful "Soundtrack of My Life" from fellow Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn resident Deemi, your music wakeup call for the day folks:

Music AM Wakeup Call For 8/4/09: Deemi- "Soundtrack of My Life"

From yesterday's first music thread , here is an artist that is a fitting paradigm of why the music industry is the disaster that it is now. Deemi is an R &B singer from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn who is one of the realest artists in the game. Yet, because of her being TOO real, she has been pass over and flatout disrespect by the industry, with terrible promotion and little appreciation. From 2007, Deemi released one of the realer songs of the year. "Soundtrack of My Life" is its name, and it talks about success from her life pain. Your music wake up thread. Deemi - Soundtrack of my life by William974 No all star cast, no scripts, no budgets in the soundtrack of my life/ Just drugs and violence, sex and cryin' in the soundtrack of my life/ It can't get any realer than that. Unless, of course, you are overseas in war, in Africa, some part of Europe, and Asia. Your emotional wake up call for the day. (And a shoutout to Carlene for loving this song).

Music Thread #1 for 8/3/09: The Full Runthrough, Including Jay-Z New Mehhhhh Album Cover

Image
Busy day today on the music thread. Here we go. The big story of the day is Jay-Z revealing his new cover for his Blueprint 3 album, dropping on 9/11 of all days, just like the first Blueprint installment eight years ago. This cover just makes me want to regurgitate, seriously. It is not only far from aesthetically pleasing, it is just flat out ugly and brutal to look at. The quality of a CD is never based off an album cover. I just hope the album is a total 180 difference from the cover. Though after the "We Run This" single, well, the signs are a little shaky. But it's Hov, so, I trust indeed in Mr.Carter. Larry King, the master of the Michael Jackson posthumous coverage, will now give Chris Brown a forum to apologize to the world again. Speaking of Brown, the other Mr.Carter had to show him some support apparently . When asked by MTV News for a comment about the performance, Weezy responded simply via e-mail through a rep: "U kno I had to show him sum luv."
