Once again, for another powerful corporate media listical, black people barely exist in the "post-racial world." Forbes' Jeff Bercovici had its 2014 version of "30 under 30 in media", and only one black person made the list out of the 34 (since co-founders added meant more than 30 people). Uzoamaka Maduka gets that nod but, outside of one article on Salon , is not well known like many others on that list, as well as her  American Reader website  barely making a major blip in online and (definitely) black online news circles. The judges for this list were Arianna Huffington, Vice Media co-founder Shane Smith and ABC News president Ben Sherwood. I have never even heard of Maduka before, and it seemed that Bercovici or those judges just looked in his (or their) elite rolodex list and found the only black person he (or they) knew and picked Maduka. After his comments surfaced , not a surprised this was the inevitable end result . But man was his firing shift as possible.

Yes, because in the aftermath of the President talking about the earthquake in Chile and the incoming tsunami in Hawaii, it's only appropriate to ask about Charlie Rangel ( Just go to the 3:50 mark ): I would love to pay someone to tell me the name of the royal clown who asked about Rangel. I would love too. The first thing that came to his mind was about a politician instead of the natural disasters. What a journalist that guy is. What a journalist. Today, John Harwood has felt some heat for those on "Rational online" websites after the White House pushed back on that idiot anonymous advisor who slammed bloggers on this weekend. Now Harwood has told FDL's creator that the advisor was indeed an inside source and not an outsider. I asked Harwood to clarify. He confirmed that the quote came from “an Obama adviser.” He did say that the comments weren’t specifically directed at “the LGBT community or the marchers,” but “referred more broadly to those grumbling on the left about an array of issues including the war in Afghanistan and health care and Guantanamo.” Jane then adds her own two cents This is what happens when journalists allow sources to take cheap shots from behind the cloak of anonymity granted for no good reason. In this media world, only that scenario is possible ABC News has decided to air a Republican response to Obama’s big health care address to a joint session of Congress next week, a network spokesperson confirms to us, all but ensuring that the other major networks will follow suit. The decision will alter the politics of what promises to be a major political event with potentially dramatic consequences for the White House and for reform, and could set off a scramble among Republicans to be selected for the role of delivering that response. In this day and age of corporate media, who could really complain about her getting this gig. Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager will contribute monthly segments to the Today Show as the morning show’s latest correspondent. The 27-year-old teacher in Baltimore, Maryland will highlight stories like education (she always wanted to be a teacher and a writer, and has already authored two books.) “It wasn’t something I’d always dreamed to do,” the daughter of former President George W. Bush said. “But I think one of the most important things in life is to be open-minded and to be open-minded for change.” So everyone, be open minded about Jenna being apart of the NBC team with a job. I sure know all those recent journalism graduates like me and my friends would sure be happy and open-minded about this decision.
