A Daily Kos Shoutout: Memorial Day is Everyday For The IGTNT Writers

Memorial Day is everyday for the IGTNT writers.

Their tireless diligence, wonderful writing, and most importantly, their loving hearts are a true representation of the human soul at its highest caliber. From the moment a user by the name of I dunno started it over five years ago, "I Got The News Today" has grown and received the recognition it deserves, not only here at Daily Kos, but throughout the blogosphere.

They don't only stop to pay tribute only on this day. They don't stop and pay tribute only do it when violence escalates and coverage of the wars pick up. They do this everyday (or whenever they can).

This wonderful recommended diary from rb137 over a fortnight ago gets into full detail of IGTNT for those who need to know more.

Your local newspapers sometimes don't go into detail about fallen soldiers the way these writers do. And do we need to ask about our cable media, who don't even have segments anymore showing the names of the departed across the screen. Only the death toll statistics they report, and then they choose to move on. They are only numbers to some of them, and that is truly sad.

So while others move on and only think about the soldiers overseas whenever the corporate media chooses to refocus on the war stories, the names of Sandy on Signal, monkeybiz, noweasels, greenies, blue jersey mom, Chacounne, twilight falling, joyful, roses, SisTwo, SpamNunn, a girl in MI, JeNoCo, and MediaProf will always keep their eye on those who lose their lives in battle or around battle.

And why others consistently forget or neglect, the IGTNT team always, WILL ALWAYS genuflect.
