Music Thread #1 for 5/28/09: Eminem Sells 608K, Unknown If Nick Cannon Brought One Of The 6OOK

No surprise despite an album where I heard is worse than his last "Mehhh" release "Encore". I guess that's what happens when you are 36 and still talk about drug problems and serial killers.
Eminem's "Relapse" brings the rapper back to familiar ground -- the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200. With 608,000 sold in its first week, it not only nets the biggest sales week of the year for any album, but the best since AC/DC's "Black Ice" began with 784,000 copies last October.
And another example of CD's not being brought anymore compared to yesteryear:
When "Encore" was released, it sold 711K. And remember how massive the Marshall Matthews LP was. 1.76 mill sold in the first seven days.

Also in the album sails news, Meth and Red probably knew they weren't going to break the bang piggybacking off of Eminem, but damn, I know Busta Rhymes has got to be wondering what more could he do.
1 Eminem Relapse 608,000
4 Redman & Method Man Blackout 2 63,000
6 Busta Rhymes Back On My B.S. 59,000
Those numbers for Busta despite high end singles "Respect My Conglomerate" (Lil Wayne and Jadakiss) and "Hustlers Anthem" (T-Pain), and having an album last year. Tough.

Apparently, Atlantic Records is denying that T.I. married his longtime girlfriend from Xscape while starting his jail sentence.

Now Rihanna is being called to testify against Chris Brown.

Now who will buy that? I don't think little girls will be going crazy about getting that. But that's my opinion.

Jay-Z label situation or plans changes faster than the weather each day now.
