Music Thread #2 for 11/12/08: This Man Is So Inconsistent, It's ILLLLLLLL

Truly hilarious, and really groundbreaking:
Hip-Hop star Lil’ Wayne will take part in a historic night for the music business during The 42nd Annual Country Music Awards.

The rapper will perform alongside Kid Rock during the Awards show, which takes place tonight (November 12) in Nashville, Tennessee.

While African-American “Hick Hop” artist Cowboy Troy graced the CMA stage in 2004, Lil' Wayne is surely the first hardcore Hip-Hop artist to ever set foot on the Awards Shows’ stage.

I am totally on his side with this one, I really am. And it is going to be funny to see the reaction of people in the crowd when this happens. You can call it the latest bizarre move from Dwayne Carter all you want, but this one is pure genius.

I guess those Country Music Award folks didn't expect this to happen. Hell, they didn't expect to get Kid Rock either before he went to the country roots.

Update: Apparently, he got my hopes up way too high, because he did little to nothing. From a poster at Allhiphop. (Note, I am only quoting only what he wrote, and there will be a few grammar errors in what this user said, even after I cleaned it up. But it is an online forum, so you'll understand).
Wayne ain't even grab the mic.. Just stood in the back and acted like he was playin' the guitar, i mean dude should of at least done something... nothing very historical about that

At least he was there, but once again, another reason for any person who wasn't on the bandwagon to not get on it at all (or even think about it).

The Rest of the News
This is so pathetic, that I would have to even side with Kanye on this one, easily. And if you have been reading any of the music threads lately, you know full damn well that has not been the case.

But I'll definitely side with Kanye on this one, no question. And maybe, to me, it is a reason why his music has gone down, in my view. It's a very, very, understandable reason if you click on the link. Prayers for sure, and someone just give him a hug out there.

They are really going all out for this TRL finale. Good riddance for me, especially with how the show has been irrelevant since Daly left. And even right before he left, it was irrelevant.

First, give Piles respect. The man works hard, and is trying to not fade away like Jordan here. Okay, with that out of the way, why does Vibe continue to denigrate itself by saying this?

I'm not going to get further into that, other than saying that people should have long ago boycotted Vibe just like they did The Source. Hell, add XXL too. All of them try to stay "in touch" with the public (or the streets), but continue to slap themselves in the face for stupid decisions and lack of spine to stand up to labels influencing mind boggling insanity such as the case in this new Vibe issue.

Because no one in their right mind would write the things that these magazines have done in the last few years.

And they are an integral reason why music, not just in the hip hop world but in general, is at laughingstock, shameful levels right now.

Peace.
