11/10/08-TWD's Agenda For The Day: An Awkward Photo OP

The networks are really drooling all over this today. The meeting of Barack Obama wit George W.Bush at the White House at 2PM.

So far, there has been minute to minute coverage like this:
-Barack Obama took his kids to school today
-Barack Obama will be flying on American Airlines plane
-Barack Obama is walking up the steps right now
-No, Michele Obama will not be going on the plane with him

Mindless, wall to wall coverage, our 24 hour news cycle for you, ladies and gentleman.

Outside of the President-elect telling the lame duck incumbent to take his policies and himself somewhere else now (especially with Bush's latest desire to push last minute deregulation in environmental areas), expect nothing major to happen here (and I certainly won't be holding my breath for the first thing to happen either). The grandstanding will be great, although Bush may not be too cordial to Obama when the cameras are off, and be a little snarky when they talk inside to him.

Nevertheless, even if that happens, I would be completely surprised if Obama made that known to the public, any slight discourse they would have with each other today.

Either way, add another awkward photo op to the list of awkward photo ops. Now, maybe McCain can campaign now and say, "Look, he's THE ONE just like Bush!"
