The Trial Of The Senate Judas, The Aftermath: He Basically Laughed In His Face

Think Progress, as a collective whole, reports Lieberman's response:

Today, Senate Democrats decided to wholeheartedly embrace Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), voting 42-13 to allow him to keep his prized chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee. At a press conference today, Lieberman said that he wasn’t “chastened” by his colleagues at all.

Before today, Lieberman was also chairman of two subcommittees. He has now given up his gavel of the Environment and Public Works subcommittee, but will stay on as chair of the Armed Services subcommittee. This is hardly punishment. As Lieberman explained during his press conference, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has decided not to single him out and simply changed the rules so that all senators will be restricted to only one committee chairmanship and one subcommittee chairmanship:

They are sick to their stomachs over at Think Progress, and as mentioned before, they are sick their stomachs across the liberal online network, throughout.

The press conference, again, shows how much of a liar Lieberman is. Again, he had the nerve to say this:
LIEBERMAN: The resolution expresses strong disapproval and rejection of statements that I made about Senator Obama during the campaign. And in that regard, I said very clear, some of the statements — some of the things that people have said I said about Senator Obama are simply not true.

What people is this man talking about? If he's talking about a bum on the street who randomly said he called Obama the "n" word, then for him to place unified ambiguity on everyone just because of one person is typical Lieberman/right-wing political B.S. thrown in our faces and the fully informed viewer. It's the motive of lumping everyone in and creating fake outrage to make him look like the victim.

Just like Obama said: "Fake outrage."

(And just to make sure people aren't confused, anyone of merit didn't say Lieberman called Obama an outrageous think. Lieberman did that himself.)

And it makes it even more intolerable that no one, except on the liberal rational online community, and a few Senators like Leahy and Sanders, will call him out on his brutal aspersions.

Even more depressing for me, the citizens of Connecticut, and most here today, whether at the Daily Kos, Talking Points Memo, Think Progress, Democracy Now, or anywhere else of merit, is how he is laughing to the bank with how arrogant he is.

The Trial of The Senate Judas is over. And once again, the American citizens are the one stabbed in their back by their government.
