Music Thread #1 for 10/14/08- Madonna Has Some Harsh Words For Palin

Once again, I apologize for not posting a music news thread in a few days. Times get hectic, and that has been the case recently. In fact, it has always been the case, but you catch my drift. Anyway, here is the first of two news threads in the music world today (I promise there will be two).

Haha, those Philly fans on Saturday will have a hard time beating Madonna in having the most disgust for Sarah Palin in this country (outside of Alaska and Walt Monegan of course). This is too hilarious:
Madonna first banned the governor from the tour. In between sets, she screamed, "Sarah Palin can't come to my party! Sarah Palin can't come to my show!" As the week progressed, Madonna even threatened to "kick her ass."

HAHAHAHAHAHA. Maybe the label was so freaked out that they had to say something to the material girl.
"It's a metaphor," she said. "She's in the Republican Party, I'm in the Democratic Party."

There have been many things that Madonna has done to make me say "whatever" to her (and I know I'm not alone in that boat), and she is maybe doing this for attention in regards to her movie "Filth and Wisdom" coming out. (Geesh, what a surprise that would be.)

But I don't care, she gets it, and that is what matters.

Speaking of more great political-music news, here is this lovely one. Pitbull slams Daddy Yankee for being really stupid in doing a publicity stunt with John McCain in August.

Never one to shy away from political topics, Pitbull was more than happy to give his thoughts on the current election saying, "I’m with Barack Obama all the way. I can’t vote for a man that can have a conversation with another man and not look him in the eye. And that’s without even touching on the issues."

"I thought Daddy Yankee jumping behind McCain was a publicity stunt that blew up in his fucking face," says Pit. "It’s unfortunate that Yankee was pulled into that. How could he even say he backed McCain and his immigration laws? [Daddy Yankee is] from Puerto Rico, and you don’t even need a passport to come to the United States of America. I would love to see Fat Joe and Yankee debate. I would love to have a debate with Yankee, and we could have it in Spanish."

We talked in the past about the Chicago Bears' Brandon Lloyd being just as serious over his rap career as his football one. And he is backing that up I guess.
Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who goes by the stage name B. Lloyd, is jumping into the world of Hip Hop with his upcoming album Master Of Ceremony.

B. Lloyd's current single "She All Mine" featuring Bobby Valentino was made available on iTunes last month and is already in rotation at a number of radio stations.

Although football has been in his blood since elementary school, B. Lloyd has always had a growing passion for music, and his musical influences have ranged from DJ Jazzy Jeff to Lionel Richie.

If it is as quality as his playing career so far, which I believe it is as low as that career so far, than the former Illinois standout receiver hasn't been able to step up to his two professional jobs now.

Goodness gracious Ne-Yo? Why are you working with Marylin Manson?

And on a total 180 of positive news, real good to see DJ AM back on the grind after that horrific incident. Real real good.

Sha-la!
