Sports Thread #1 for 10/14/08- You Call This A Suspension, Roger Goodell?

Mark J. Rebilas / US PRESSWIRE

Unlike ESPN's Mike Mosley, who is leaping praise on NFL Comissioner Roger Goodell for indefinitely suspending Adam Jones when Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones didn't do a single thing, I don't hold the same sentiment.

In fact, if Goodell told Adam Jones last year that this would be his last straw if he does anything wrong in this league, for good, then why the hell do you only suspend him indefinitely, which is actually just four games?

Four games for the man who you shaped into a mindset and belief that if he gets into any trouble, or violates his promise to you, that he would be gone for good? Instead, you go ahead and suspend him actually just four games, where he has the chance to actually come back?

There will be more on this tomorrow, because Goodell didn't lay the hammer down here when he should have.Because "no tolerance" was suppose to mean "no tolerance", if Jones did something that he wasn't suppose to be doing.

To be honest, what the hell did Jones really do? What do he do?

Did he drink alcohol? Did he fight with the bodyguard? Did the bodyguard provoke him? Did the bodyguard frame him with the drink?

As I will ask tomorrow in a TRF column, if Jones did something so stupid, even if it was slightly dumb, that it violated what he was and was not allowed to do, then why isn't he out of the league for good and forever, now?

Because it doesn't make any damn sense for him to still have the chance to be in the NFL if he actually did something that broke the rules he failed to abide by.
