Music Thread #2 of 10/21/08- Bandwagoner Jay-Z Joins Nas As Obama Supporters; And Obama Apperas on 106 & Park

It took forever from him to speak up about this (Will I.Am and Wyclef Jean have put him, and almost every other hip-hop artist, to shame), but Hova says he's behind Obama.

The Beyonce endorsement won't be too far behind.

A little earlier this month, Nas was at Hampton University, encouraging those to believe down there:

Butt kissing Terrence and Rosci actually don't screw up the interview with the Democratic nominee:

Jay-Z again, though he doesn't do the best job of clearly explaining the ID sitation when voting. But he gets the message out:

Peace!

Jay-Z has been an Obama supporter for months now, dating back to the Democratic primaries, and he was a supporter before Nas announced his support. So...just thought I would clarify that. In the Hip Hop community's support of Obama, Jay-Z has been at the forefront, not a "bandwagoner".

When before September was Jay-Z publicly endorsed Obama?

I was a little harsh calling one of my favorite rappers (and Bed-Stuynite) a "bandwagoner" here, and I admit that.

However, "supporting" him for a few months and endorsing him are two different matters. He has nothing on how Will I.am, Wyclef Jean, and even Ludacris in terms of supporting the man since last year.

Thanks though for the post, and you have a great blog. Heck, your comments on videos is almost more than those videos' numbers on Youtube. I think you will be added to the site list for such a great blog.
