Music Thread #1 For 9/28/10: The Runthrough, Including New Album Release Tuesday

Some notable album releases today, including Aloe Blacc's "Good Things", Ben Folds & Nick Hornby "Lonely Avenue", and Deerhunter's "Halcyon Digest."

Speaking of one of the CD's that was originally suppose to drop this day, here is a great example of the pathetic times in music we live in:
T.I. is still hiding out following his arrest last month, but his producer pal Pharrell is promising that his forthcoming 'King Uncaged,' album will be memorable, in spite of label pressure. According to the Neptunes frontman, who worked on the album, Tip is experiencing stress from his record label, Atlantic Records, to put out more pop-friendly songs.

"He's got a crazy album. I saw, like, 60 records, and almost every record that he played me was really incredible," Pharell told MTV News. "Then there was the more poppier side of things, where the label kinda puts the gun to your head 'cause they gotta pay their bills ... Please trust, T.I.'s album is incredible, and he's an amazing talent, and it's been a while since we got together."
It's not like T.I. is a struggling mainstream rapper on his last legs that no one knows outside of the urban community. He has delivered with a few platinum records and still has name recognition. Yet the label treats him like a dog, wanting to adhere to what they want.

Realizing how common sensical the move is, Lil Wayne released "I Am Not A Human Being" digitally.

In Kanye news, his still untitled 5th album will be released on the Monday before Thanksgiving, while he has signed Mos Def to the label. Talk about not a lot of noise made for that move there.

Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond and Tom Watts are this year's nominees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Instead of Mayweather and Pacquiao, we may get the one Mariah Carey loves and the one she hates. What weird times we live in.

Your music thread for the day.
