Well, this story didn't take long to reach its final chapter.

Joe Girardi will be returning to the Yankees after signing a 3 year deal with $9 million, ending any speculation of him going to manage the Chicago Cubs.

Giradi's previous contract of 3 years at $7.5 million was set to expire this Sunday, so there ends any further discussion of that.
