Sorry Ali Flick, I Want To, But I Just Cant.

Think Progress stalwart Ali Frick has this post up, with this title:

Now when I saw this, I wanted to really give Tim Pawlenty, the Minnesota Governor, the Straight Jacket Award for today. Then I read what Pawlenty said:

Opening his remarks with a reference to NBC’s “Inside the Obama White House” special, Pawlenty told the gathering of about 200 students, “I haven’t seen something that staged since that half-naked Austrian fell onto the face of Eminem at the MTV music awards.”

“Eminem was mad,” he continued, to laughter and applause. “And so, just like Eminem getting dumped on, we’ve got to kind of regroup. We’ve got to continue to fight. And we’ve got some things worth fighting for.”

Pawlenty didn't tell these young Republicans he talked to on Friday to be "just like Eminem" though. He only told them to what their diminishing party should do, although it was a horrible analogy if there ever was one.

And though Ali does point to the fact that Pawlenty didn't know that Eminem actually slammed Palin hard in the "We Made You" song and video (though Pawlenty has no love lost for Palin at the end of the day), he stretched it a little bit here. Actually, kind of a lot.
